2011 Phil looks amazing a realistic freaky version of human potential. Similar to Ronnie 2001 Arnold Classic. Probably 2 best packages in modern bodybuilding history IMO
I would have ABSOLUTELY no problem with that version of phil heath becoming an 8 time mr olympia but the new pregnant version of him today is just disgusting.
Mikelelele you just have to compare his back poses to anyone else from that lineup and see why nobody can even challenge him today.

Agreed, that's why Ronnie Coleman from 2003 would blow Phil Heath away. Phil competes in the 240's normally, and Ronnie was up at 280+. The overall size has to matter. And no way would Heath beat Ronnie on the back poses. Phil 2011 was damn good, I will admit. This bubble-gut thing is getting a little crazy . Seems like a bubble-gut is a requirement to win Mr. Olympia now.

I think everyone should show respect to the 7 time champ no matter what. continuously striving for being the best is nothing easy, many people win once and they feel satisfied and stop moving forward.
You see that happening to every major mister Olympia since Dorian Yates : first year they win, they look incredible but as the years pass their physique start to deteriorate (that was the case for Yates, Coleman and Cutler and now for Heath)
2011 was indeed a tremendous year for him.
2013 was Phil's best year. One callout and then back in line for the rest of the show!

From the front Phil in 2011 was almost perfect. From the back, in 2017 the striation of his hamstrings and detail from head to toe was incredible and superior compared to 2011. However, still prefer his 2011 physique from miles.

You sometimes forget how great this guy is or was. It is hard to find any body builder with the size, shape and fullness he has in every body part. His calves are also crazy to match great leg development plus an otherworldly upper body. With that being said he does not look nasty like many top guys. He puts everything together and he looks great. If he can bring a 2011 version to the 2019 O it is lights out.

2011 for sure. When I see pics from that Olympia they're mind blowing. Just the level of detail and separation Phil had everywhere and how crisp his midsection was, he's never looked that sharp again. Yeah he got bigger and has been just as conditioned like in 2016 but that same level of detail just never came back. His ab separation is nowhere close now, his waist has gotten wider and so has his neck.

No particular comment on the video, which was very good, but just to say that EVERY man, let alone bodybuilder gets a thicker waist as they age, it's just one of those things that happens to all of us. I have been training for 59 years, I started competing in 1965 and my last comp was in 2004. There are some rare guys that just seem to always have a small waist, but even Oliva, who had a tiny waist, thickened as the years past (RIP).
Ever since someone pointed out to me that looking at just the traps and face of a bodybuilder makes it look like there's just a head on top of another body, I can't take photos like the last one at 3:44 seriously 😂

I would definitely agree that 2011 was his best year. I'm a big Phil Heath fan and I've met him a few times as well. I think he is going to come in this year either matching or better than 2011 to put an end to all of the criticism of the bubble gut thing. We'll see what happens and we'll also see if he makes it 10 Mr. Olympia wins in total.
