  • Essentially my CV in short form! See my art here: fortyonehundre...
Hi! My name is Lizzie Snow. I am a visual artist working under my artist name 'fortyonehundred'. Inspired by fractals in nature, I create contemporary explorations of the mandala and free-flowing artworks.
My credentials include a Master of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Design, over 150,000 followers online, and significant press coverage - both in digital and traditional media.
I’ve collaborated with brands including Apple, Whittaker’s, Blunt Umbrellas, Lululemon, Converse, Peugeot, and more. I was also a Lululemon ambassador for 2 years.
I draw, paint and create from my art studio here in New Zealand. I’ve also lived in Canada for 3 years. I now travel often from my home base as I am flown internationally to paint murals as well as other select commissions. I’ve also had many exhibitions over the years; solo and group shows.
I have several online courses available through Domestika. The courses I teach are on drawing, painting and art-business - you can start the courses at any time and then have lifetime access to start/stop whenever you want.
I sell my artwork online from my website. Some of my original artworks are available; as well as limited-edition prints, open edition prints, and select collectables. The collectables product line is always evolving; and the sterling silver necklaces are my current favourite. I design and produce everything under my own brand - fortyonehundred. As well as artworks and products; I also have specialty tools available for artists. The main one is Mural Pens; my own brand of paint pen; designed to have the perfect flow on walls, wood, canvas and more. I have other artist tools that I sell depending on stock and relevancy so it’s worth keeping up to date with my website: fortyonehundre...
I create social media content about art, art business and the artist lifestyle. You can follow me across social media @fortyonehundred. When I started I had massive goals, and I feel very grateful, proud and lucky to have been able to follow this path. Thank you for joining me on the journey!

Super!!! Your works are wonderful !!! I am always wondering which paper to use if I have to draw a mandala of size as big as 100cm * 100cm ? I am not comfortable using Canvas because I use fineliners like Brustro or Posca pens and the nib gets damaged in Canvas. Are there good quality papers of this big size which can be framed? Or are there other ways to draw this?

Thank you so much! For large artworks like that I use canvas or wood - primed and sanded many times to make it a smooth surface, then Mural Pens (or other pens) work even better on them.
I have a new online course coming out next week about how to paint mandalas (the next step up from my current course about drawing mandalas).
This new course uses acrylic paint and is all about the prepping/priming different surfaces.
      Thanks for your comment :)
