Hi! My name is Lizzie Snow. I am a visual artist working under my artist name 'fortyonehundred'. Inspired by fractals in nature, I create contemporary explorations of the mandala and free-flowing artworks.

I have collaborated with Apple, Whittaker’s, Blunt Umbrellas, Lululemon, Converse, Peugeot, AllBirds, and more. I was a Lululemon ambassador in 2017-18. In 2021, I filmed an online course with Domestika in NYC, titled "How to Draw a Mandala".
My credentials include a Master of Fine Arts degree, a Bachelor of Design degree, over 150,000 followers online, numerous high-profile collaborations, and significant media coverage.
The mediums I engage in include original artworks, internationally commissioned hand-painted murals, limited edition prints & collectables, and collaborations with select brands and artists worldwide.
After living in Canada the past 3 years, I have now returned to NZ to continue advancing my career.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful exploration of some of the learning platforms out there! I have found it hard to weed through cost and offering comparisons - for Patreon as well. It helped me figure out that I am able to purchase I course I've been looking into on Domestika without having to commit to a monthly fee! Very helpful.
THEY ARE A SCAM. Domestika are misleading with advertisements PLEASE BEWARE
Skillshare has been a complete waste of time, in my opinion. Classes are filled with fluff and a 5 minute *free* TH-cam video will get you the same information without wasting the time or money.
Beware. These guys will charge you $119 30 days in.
❤❤ so beautiful
DOMESTIKA SCAMS AND STEALS YPUR MONEY! GOOGLE DOMESTIKA SCAM AND YOU WILL SEE THOUSANDS OF REPORTS OF THEM STEALING MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT!
The Domestika courses do look really good quality, but the reviews of Domestika itself (1.3 on Trust Pilot from 3,438 ratings and rated as 'Bad'), are absolutely appalling. People mainly complaining of Domestika's sneaky and scamming pricing and charging practices, with so many people feeling fraudulently tricked into buying annual subscriptions that Domestika then stubbornly refuse to refund. From what I understand, you pay an annual subscription on top of the cost of each course. No reflection on the artists and tutors themselves, other than their association with this company.
I warn those people out there to never sign up any course in domestika. It is a legit scam. They might let you enjoy the course first, like everything is smooth, but eventually, they are getting more money from you by letting you sign up and pay without your permission. They charged me 93 USD for something I did not sign up. Search on facebook and youtube "Domestika scam" . thank me later
Do not buy from Domestika. They will sneak an annual subscription in your cart and charge you 110 dollars, with no refund. Check their page with a lot of people complaining about it.
I have been waiting for a week for my refund for an unauthorized charge to my credit card of $72,900 CLP ($79.76 USD), and I still haven't received any response. I contacted PayPal about this incident, and they are already taking action. I am a freelancer, I don’t have a fixed salary, and that money was meant to pay bills, so you have caused me irreparable harm by accessing my account and taking that money, which I never authorized. I want my money back because what you are doing is a violation of consumer rights.
Bewar eDomestika!!! , after Domestika scammed me out of $75 when I asked for a refund, they told me they are not responsible. "Andrea (Domestika) Sep 2, 2024, 14:06 PDT Hi, Porpol. We understand the inconvenience this may cause, but after careful review of your case, we regret to inform you that we are unable to proceed with your refund request. We know that this is not the answer you were hoping for, but we can see that you previously activated a Domestika Plus free trial. During the activation process, it is clearly stated that at the end of the 30-day trial period, a renewal for an annual plan will take place. As with all free trials, you can cancel it at any time to prevent automatic renewal. Therefore, the renewal has been charged only after the trial period or current plan has ended, not before. Note that the trial is for 30 calendar days."
Your art is super lovely 🤩🤍👌🏼
Hermosos trabajos. Una pregunta, ¿quien pintó el auto? ¿Tú?, ¿George? ¿Los dos?
Love this so much❤❤
There is also: Udemy!
Stunning!!!
Signed up, can't access and Domesteka support is a joke. Nothing but canned responses and loads of complaints on the internet which unfortunately I found AFTER I paid. You need to offer the course on a different platform!
Thanks very much for a great video. I really love Domestika as it's so professional and a real creative hub as you described it. I also love that after paying for a course on Domestika it's always there to return to and watch again. I love Patreon if you want to follow a specific creator but that has varying monthly fees depending on the creator, but most have quite low monthly costs for a LOT of add free videos which are far more in depth than TH-cam, and also provide other resources as part of the monthly fee. For a specific creator Patreon is by far the best. I use Patreon for my three favourite artists, and Domestika for different courses that interest me, like watercolour technique, drawing in pen and ink, bookbinding and music. Take care, David. Xxx
Love domestika. Love that they are in Spanish because I can practice my Spanish. 😅😂 another amazing skill to have.
Beautiful. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful!
I'm commenting in Dec. 2023. As someone who has taken classes on both SkillShare and Domestika as well as having watched tons of TH-cam videos, I wanted to add my voice to your comments. Hands down, Domestika has the best courses, followed by TH-cam videos. I totally agree with you about SkillShare instruction being all over the place in terms of quality. For me, the biggest drawback with SS is having to pay the monthly fee in order to access classes. I tend to be slow to do course projects, so if I find a course that seems to offer something valuable, I have to keep paying a fee in order to access the lesson when I finally get around to wanting to work on the project. It's this feature alone that prevents me from using SS. I'm a BIG fan of Domestika where I've purchased over 100 courses and have signed up for their membership plan that gives you free access to 1000+ courses, includes the ability to keep 1 course per month, and gives you special discounts on courses when you prepay. Being able to view free courses before purchasing is a great way to assess weather or not a course is right for you to purchase. I love that for around $6-$8 I can purchase a course and work on it at my leisure. Domestika has been an extremely valuable resource as I work toward becoming a professional illustrator. I sincerely appreciate that I can go back and rewatch any course I've purchased. I do rewatch the courses and find I still learn new things. Domestika classes are generally high quality, but I do have issues with the subtitles for some of the courses. Although the playback speed can be slowed to allow you to more easily read subtitles with enough time to watch the demos, I've found that the names for art supplies are not translated accurately from other languages into English. This often causes confusion. Additionally, some of the presenters, especially those from Mexico, use a lot of slang which is translated literally. When this happens, it's almost impossible to comprehend the instruction. While many instructors participate regularly in the forums, some Instructors do not. When an instructor doesn't participate in the forum, your questions about supplies or other issues related to the course go unanswered. In mid-2023, Domestika switched to a new translation service that is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! The subtitles are not synced with the presentation, therefore, you see the instructor speaking, but you don't get the subtitles, or, you get the subtitle before the concept is presented. To make matters worse, the subtitles now cover the lower part of the screen which makes it impossible to see the demonstration. To make matters even more worse, the new subtitles are often 4 lines long. When this happens, the entire screen is obliterated AND the subtitles disappear before you can actually read them, even when playing the videos at reduced speed. Hopefully Domestika will address this problem, but I've decided to only purchase courses in English to avoid the horrible subtitles. Domestika courses all include additional resources which are documents or websites that give more detail about what was included in the course. The additional resources are always in the same language as the presentation. If the additional resource is a website, it's not a problem if you have Google translate installed on your computer because you can tell Google to automatically translate into English. However, many of the additional resources are in PDF format. Unfortunately, Google cannot translate PDFs so you simply miss out on those resources. Another thing that bugs me about Domestika, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your background, is that Domestika strives to make courses comprehensive for beginners, therefore, every course usually includes lessons about mind mapping, color theory and finding resources. As someone who came to Domestika with an art school background, I'm really over seeing yet another lesson about these topics. On the plus side, Domestika has been very responsive to my constructive criticisms in the past. I have contacted them about the problems with subtitles in the past (which were definitely addressed) as well as the issues with new translation service I've outlined above. I've also suggested that Domestika offer free foundational courses in mind mapping, color theory and places to find resources to avoid redundancy from one course to the next. Despite the complaints outlined above, I still highly recommend Domestika. My advice for anyone considering purchasing a Domestika course is to read the reviews carefully. This will help you avoid purchasing low quality courses or courses with translation issues. BTW, I recommend both of Lizzie's courses.
Thanks for your straightforward review of these online learning platforms!
Your work is beautiful.
So beautiful❤
I appreciate you taking the time to do a comparison. I've been flirting with a few Domestika courses. And just how you explained Domestika is exactly the vibe that I get from the website and the course previews. Everything seems very professional and the courses seem to be of high quality. Thank you for sharing this! Hoping you do well with your course.
I like this, was just about to do a mandala time lapse vid this weekend. Its cool the way you can spin them around while drawing them.
Thanks for the useful video! May I ask how long you waited for their response? Unfortunately, Domestiika does not even give approximate terms 😔 Is it necessary to fly to another country to shoot a video? I thought they gave clear requirements for video and sound quality and you could do it in any local studio 😬
*how can i remove those guidelines??
What pens u used pls let me know i want to buy
