      Thanks a bunch!! Yes both our kiddos have done everything early, popped teeth, crawl, stand, walk! Liv especially, bc she is always trying to keep up w/ her big brother!
      Max has been riding this balance bike effortlessly since before he turned 3 (getting him a pedal bike when we get down to FL), he swims across a pool under water by himself without floaties, catches a football, and he hits a baseball like a champ when we throw it to him! Not bragging or anything, just saying…we are in awe of our sweet babes! ☺️🙏💕

    Has the cat been taken off to be bathed or flea powdered? Sometimes, it's not the cat but the hygiene products--even the chemicals put in the cat litter. Hope this helps.

    • @rawmilkmama
      @rawmilkmama 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I apologize for being frank but this diet is experimental. You do not know if her children are thriving unless you know or see them in person. You are not their doctor. Please do not take this channel as proof that children can “thrive” on this diet. A vegan diet is lacking in many nutrients that an omnivorous diet easily provides. Just protein alone from plant sources are far less bioavailable than their animal counterparts. Look up a DIAAS chart if you’re interested. I know you did not ask for this information but as an ex vegan and mom I feel compelled to warn others about this dangerous diet. I wish you the best.

    • @edyann
      @edyann 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@rawmilkmama We will agree to disagree. The same can be said of overweight children all over the world. I'm in México and we're the most obese country in the world.. and one of the most malnourished. Yet we eat a "normal" diet. I know many American plant based women who have been pregnant and birthed a healthy baby. I myself became vegan at age 13 and today at age 44, almost 45 have zero deficiencies. I'm a bit chunky- I'll admit that because I love to eat- but other than that very healthy. A plant based diet is like any other diet- if done wrong- of course you're going to fail.. but if done right it is one of the most nutritious. Vegan 4 Life! 💚

    • @rawmilkmama
      @rawmilkmama 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@edyann Thank you for your reply! I do agree obesity is an issue. But animal products cannot be blamed for the cause of it by default. "The average Mexican drinks the equivalent of 163 liters of Coca-Cola a year, nearly half a liter a day, while 70 percent of the population is overweight and 32.8 percent is clinically obese, according to the World Health Organization." Veganism is not the solution to childhood obesity. The Standard American Diet is about 70% plant foods by calorie, so this is really a plant based diet. We know that PUFAs, sugar, and processed foods are linked to obesity, along with other factors. And yes, many women will be able to conceive and have "healthy" vegan babies, the body is incredibly resilient. The problem is, there are no birth-to-death vegan studies. Additionally, many countries advise against veganism for children and/or pregnant women, such as Germany, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Norway and others. There is no "right" way to do veganism. Most vegans quit, I believe at a rate of 80%? I may be wrong but there are certainly many ex-vegans like myself who really thought they were doing it right, and still ended up being let down by a diet that promised everything.

    I grew up with cats, and so have all my kids. They were indoor/outdoor.
    Once we moved out to the country, it became more apparent, that the occassional allergy from the cats; came from something they got into outside.
    Even in the city, maybe someone was spraying their yard, or kitty climbed a tree, rubbed on a bush that could be irritating to us, and have it on their fur?
    I have a friend, who's cat repeatedly gave him poison oak when we were growing up. (Kitty would sleep with him, after playing outside in the country).
    So, if its not a persistent allergy, it could just be something kitty got into. Hope that helps :)

    The vibrancy of your channel is a beautiful thing to watch! Regarding cats, Russian Blue breeds are supposed to better for people with allergies. I think there are also natural sprays you can rub on cat’s bodies that help neutralize the effects of their dander, which is what produces the allergic reaction. The cat in your video was long hair; maybe Max could try hanging around some short cat breeds as well. Good luck!!

    Repeated exposure can lessen some allergies but it can also cause allergies or make them worse. For example, repeatedly eating foods out of season can cause a food allergy. Continuing to eat that food will make the allergy worse (I’m the biggest offender of eating the same foods year round, but I have heard that switching up your diet according to season can prevent allergies). Pet allergies however very rarely get worse to the point of causing anaphylactic shock so repeated exposure should lessen the symptoms overtime. I don’t know, however, whether it would still cause internal inflammation. May be worth it to ask an immunologist.

    A homeopathic made by our naturopath worked. Our son isn't allergic to animals anymore. Prior to going to the naturopath, he was so allergic that he couldn't breathe. He was a few months old when we found out he was allergic, and now he is one. It didn't take very long for the homeopathic to fix the issue.
    I know that being around animals help, but I cannot imagine that being too healthy for the body. My father has been allergic his whole life, and my mom always had cats. He still has reactions, but not extreme ones.

    My daughter is extremely allergic to dogs and cats. We've had them both her whole life and she is fine. As she was growing she learned to not put her face by them and after she pets them wash her hands off. My partners kid is allergic to cats and he isn't exposed and has allergic reactions, his allergy isn't as severe as my daughters. There will be 1000 different "answers" best one my pediatrician gave was in our case her exposure to them is helping her allergy, if I isolated her from them her reactions would be bad.

      Start with one meal a day. Breakfast is an easy healthy swap...make a smoothie with fruits and veggies and superfoods in it or some oatmeal! Then work on lunch, and finally, dinner! Or just focus on eliminating one animal product at a time...meat, dairy or eggs! Start with what's easiest.

    Love your videos!! You should post a comparison of what you guys and your kiddos eat in a day vs what a SAD adult or kiddo would eat... Breakdown the calories, protein/fat/carbs and even include some of the more important vitamins and minerals. I used to think my kiddos egg and cheese was so healthy and now I know better and people give me grief that I'm making better choices. Never said a word when we took them to BK for Saturday morning breakfast! It would be nice to see head to head - birthday cake oats vs a pancake or cereal 😊. Keep up the amazing work!

    All allergies are related to tired liver
    I would lower their fat intake especially in the morning
    I know it’s against your beliefs but fat free mornings for kids is a great way to help their livers
    I’ve done it and my little one has no more reactions to anything
    Nutritional yeast is very agressif to kid’s nerves too
    May give lots of reactions
    I’m vegan since almost 20y mum and therapist 😉

    Erin I had all kinds of pets most of my life. It was not until my late 40’s that I started having all kinds of allergies. Now I always had allergies to dairy and citrus. But later on to plants, bushes, trees, soaps, lotions, perfumes, beans, peas, nuts, soy, certain sea food, and most of all furry pets. We had dogs and kitty kats but Labradors are deadly to me, and if I am around kitty kats too much I will also end up in the hospital. Maybe try taking Max around these kitties again a bit, and see if it keeps happening. And then maybe get a Dr.s advice. I sincerely hope he outgrows it. It is not fun, especially since I love kitty kats and dogs. Liv is growing so fast and so precious like Max. God Bless.

    So excited for your move to Florida!! Can't wait to try the ELSE with my little boy. He's just about 2 months younger than Liv.
    On a side note: I started following your page about a year ago. At that time I was dairy free, but hadn't gone completely plant based yet. After having my son I started having some tough PPD and PPA (postpartum depression and anxiety). I didn't want to be stuck on medications forever and I remembered you had said in the past that was really what got you started on this journey too. I am so inspired by you and your family and finally took the plunge and went completely plant based about a month and a half ago and have been loving every minute of it. I just want you to know how much I appreciate what you do. You are my mentor in this process and truly think that plant based has not only changed my life for the better, but my families as well. I learn something new from you each time I watch a vlog or read a new post. Keep doing the wonderful things you're doing and have a safe trip to Florida.
    God Bless,
    Meg

    My daughter had the same thing happen with cats but she is fine with dogs. We just keep children's Benadryl around. just in case she has bad hives break out or her breathing seems altered. Not all cats bother her it must be something to do with the cats skin they shed.

    My babies aren’t allergic to cats or dogs, but their saliva is another story! I NEVER knew it was possible but it definitely is. The fur is totally fine when we pet but we have to wash our hands right after contact. And definitely avoid animals licking their faces especially the eyes.

    I never had allergies to cats till I had none and then got a new cat which gave me allergies but after awhile it went away and now my cats sleep next to me. No more watery eyes and sneezing. Time will only tell if it go away or not.

    Hi! I am an allergy mom who also has allergies. I grew up with cats my whole life but it was still allergic. It triggers my asthma itchy eyes and sneezing. My son will actually break out and hives and have the same symptoms as me. He is also allergic to cats. The rule of thumb with allergens that we were always taught. Repeated exposures can worsen over time. However because it's an environmental allergen he may be able to take allergy meds or get shots to help. Otherwise I would avoid there's no guarantee that being around the animal repeatedly will lead to out growing it.

    My baby is a day older than yours so I love watching what she eats. My only question is you don’t need to flatten the peas and berries? I thought you did. Thanks!

      No need to flatten the peas, but it is a good idea to slice blueberries in half for a bit when they are first introduced.

    Why are oils ok for kids and babies but adults should avoid them? Wouldn’t a better option be adding more nut butters, avocados or ground seeds to their foods to get those added calories and fats?

    • @EatMoveRest
      @EatMoveRest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it’s primarily about caloric density. Babies have super tiny tummies so oil is an easy way to add extra healthy fats and calories in a concentrated amount. Adults don’t need the refined oils for the same reasons, esp if they may have heart disease. Hope this helps!

    I think having an outdoor cat will definitely minimise any effects that Max may get, but exposure in small amounts are the way to go for sure. Love this and all your videos, good luck with the move xx

    My son is allergic to cats and dogs. We ended up getting golden doodles from an amazing breeder in Florida and they can ensure that the dog you get is an F1B and therefore does not shed and is does not cause allergies. You can go the allergy shot route once he is older, but we just make sure to carry Benadryl with us at all times and also a warm bath or shower will help as well.

    Loved your video! I have two pieces of advice for you - watch out for too many almonds or other nuts in kid’s foods. A few are fine but bombarding their bodies with nuts every day can lead to a sensitivity in the future. I never had nut allergies but do now since I’ve been drinking almond milk so much & eating hand fills of nuts. Now I can’t have any.
    Regarding cats, I had an allergy to cats my entire life, but I’d still have a cat periodically in the house & have to take an allergy pill every day. My last cat passed away a few yrs ago & I haven’t had to take an allergy pill since (which is worth not having one inside). Outside is 👍

    Thank you for the video! I have had cats my entire life and am also allergic. I find that every time we go through a short period without cats my allergies clear, then we rescue a cat and my allergies come back. However, the allergies become much less severe as I become used to their fur. Also, I have heard that the flavonoid Quercetin is great for allergies. It is present in lots of fruits and veggies, such as, raspberries, cherries, red grapes, red onions...

    Delicious food. As an aside, I remember Dr Michael Klaper saying that adults needed 30% healthy, plant-based fats in their diets to ward off dementia in old age. That was his one regret, seeing several of his vegan clients 30/40 years down the track, now developing cognitive issues so I think the brain needs more fat than we think, at all stages in life.

    This is a fantastic video! Even tho my kiddos are grown it's good to see how things have changed since raising mine and it's prepping mew for grand-kiddos!
    I agree with you on the exposure to the animals to build that internal tolerance!
    I used to study under Dr. Luc DeShepper, homeopath who also said it's definitely possible even from the standpoint of homeopathic constitutions! Hw was a medical doctor with licenses in deaf countries and multiple states. He was also an acupuncturist and has written many books and taught in universities around the world!
    Keep going with your instinct Erin! YOU know best!

    I’m raising 3 vegan kids since birth so you guys are great inspiration to us. Since we grow most of our own food in our backyard, our kids eat lots of homegrown veggies like kale, beets, potatoes, lettuce, tomatoes and of course lentils, beans and tofu from the store.

    I'm brand new to this channel and think what you are doing is awesome! 6 years ago I donated a kidney to my eldest son, back in 1988 when he was born we didn't have access to the internet. He was such a fussy eater as a toddler and my only advice came from my misguided parents being so long as he has his meat and dairy he will be ok but in fairness the local family doctor was recommending cigarettes for stress when they were growing up. I won't mention recommending jabs for infants that they don't need right now. We only found out he had chronic kidney disease when he was in the later stages so I threw myself and everything I had into diet and nutrition. Thankfully we made it through but I had no idea how big an influence the meat and dairy industry had on our governments until I researched it. Your doing a wonderful job with your beautiful family, long may it continue ❤
