    This motivates me to plan something for my own garage in the springtime. Maybe order a roll-off dumpster to start! I can't remember what it looked like empty, lol.

    Trying to figure out order. What is the spacing of the lights in the 2 car area ? It looks like there are 2 four foot lights in between? Are you keeping those or removing? Thanks!

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      We eyeball the ceiling for symmetry then layout the lights based on that. The 2 car area is about 24' wide, we have 3 rows of fixtures from front to back, so the would be 4' from the walls and 8' between each fixture. We have 2 8' lights in each row.

    • @bobbystefano
      @bobbystefano ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ObsessedGarage Thanks- I was trying to figure if it was 20 or 24 wide. Mine is 20 so I will let my🤓 own compulsive symmetric ocd's take over from there!

    I love the lights and love your garage setup. I also watched your garage tour from a while ago. Question, I’m just getting into detailing and I don’t have any water access inside my garage other than my water heater. I had my contractor run pex from the cold water line of my water heater to the wall adjacent to it so I can mount my giraffe tools pressure washer. It’s been a great setup, the only downside is, the pressure washer stops putting out pressurized water after about 3 sprays of the trigger. I don’t know if a way to measure the PSI, which is what giraffe tools told me to do. Any thoughts you have as to why the water stops being pressurized after 3 sprays of the trigger? Thanks!

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's probably just a faulty pressure washer. Return that thing. It is junk. You want an Active.

  • @Alex.AL_26

    Curious how many lumens that setup is putting out? Ordered 10 Led high bay fixtures at 14K lumens each and wondering if that will be enough for my 1250 square foot garage?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My garage is just under 1000 sq.ft. I have 13, 12000 lumen fixtures. It depends on your ceiling height and the fixtures you have. These are 8’ long, so that 12000 lumen is widely dispersed and then diffused with the lens.

    Are the 3 switches power dictated or preference and do the Cree lights hum on dimmers? Thanks

    Quick question, you are just pulling the romex through the ceiling?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is attic above, so we ran Romex from light to light stapling where necessary. There is no need for another box as the back of the light is rated to accept the Romex running to it.

    Is it recommended to run the linear lights parallel with the car or perpendicular like towards the front of the garage?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do them either way. As long as they aren't too far apart, you will get even dispersion. I like symmetry where possible, so this configuration worked best.

    This doesn't feel like an Obsessed Garage video. This guy is using Klein wire strippers. On this channel they should only be using the best of the best which for wire strippers is Wiha. I am an electrician and spend over a decade search for a set of wire strippers that last and are comfortable to use. Wiha by far is the best. I just recently bought a new pair after using my old pair daily for over 8 years. After all that time they still worked perfectly but I had ripped the top part of the handle and it was interfering with the lock. Wiha has updated their strippers, but they are still very similar. I hope I get 8 years out of my new pair again
    With Klein and Ideal I could only get a month or two before they wouldn't cut cleanly through stranded wire and the edges of the blades would hit instead of overlapping like they are supposed to.

    • @Patrick94GSR

    • @Clay_333
      @Clay_333 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@billybones6129 While Knipex makes some awesome tools their wire strippers just don't do it for me. The main reason is they don't make standard wire strippers. They make a couple of different needle nose pliers with stripping holes and those automatic things that pull the insulation off for you. The automatic style strippers would be great if you do all of your wiring at a workbench, but for field work I have never seen anyone use them. I would love for them to make a stand set, I am sure they would be great.
