- Steel Taipan Spinning Back Seat POV! The back seat of Steel Taipan spins! Here is an official spinning POV of the brand new Roller Coaster ride at Dreamworld.
This is a POV that was provided by the park from their early testing / practice runs of the ride that shows some early On Ride footage!
The experience is called "Tailwhip" and is a paid extra at $25 AUD per ride. This is similar to the backwards seating on the nearby DC Rivals at Movie World, and the upcoming Leviathan at Sea World.
This is a world first as Steel Taipan was the first ever Roller Coaster to receive the MACK 360 spinning back car on the Roller Coaster train. This was tested on Steel Taipan's sister coaster Blue Fire in Europa Park Germany in 2020. ICON at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the UK later became the second Roller Coaster to receive the spinning back car in early 2022. Their experience is called ENZO!
Steel Taipan is a brand new Roller Coaster Ride that launched at Dreamworld in December 2021. ST is a triple launch Roller Coaster from German Manufacturer Mack Rides!
RCDB - "This is a near copy of the Mack Rides "Blue Fire" model. The original uses a single-pass launch while this will use a forward / backward / forward multi-pass launch incorporating a vertical spike and switch track.
The last car of one of the two trains will spin."

I think I’ll just stick to the normal seats thank you 😂. I’m already scared of riding it when it opens, but this somehow makes me less scared because I know this is worse than riding it on the normal seats

at 0:05 because of the the angle and the way the weights were positioned, I thought that were was only one spinning back seat! So I watched the whole pov thinking you’d have to experience it all alone and the TERROR of thinking that I wouldn’t be able to force a friend on with me 🤣

I went on this ride 3 times in a half hour and I felt so sick afterwards because I just ate lunch before, but it was so worth it. (I just had a stomach ache) 10/10 though would recommend this ride

I went there yesterday you have have to pay 25 dollars to get on the back seat and the ride is so scary it goes 105 ks n hour

They've come such a long way. I love seeing them building these bigger, really fun coasters. They were super nice and friendly at IAAPA when we stopped by their booth too.

That's awesome, but now everyone is gonna want to ride in the back row! They should put it in the middle, where no one ever wants to ride, or just make the whole thing a spinner like Time Traveller. Either way though, that looks incredible. Sadly, IDK if I'll ever get a chance to ride it, so I hope it works out and they build more!
It's a premium option ($25AUD) available on only one of the two trains. Lots of fun, albeit expensive!

The only coaster i didnt ride in the thrill seat. Plaae be aware it doesnt run 7 days a week with the spinny seat. Call or book in advance.
Yeah, a lot of people have missed it sadly due to it only being on one of the two trains. Definitely best to phone ahead to the park if you want to ride it!

Awwwww....I’m dying to try this seat and ride in general... I haven’t been to Dreamworld since March 2019... hope to make it there next March... does anyone know the cost of the Spinning Seat to ride??
It's $25 AUD per ride. Quite expensive, but worth it for sure! Have a great time when you go!
It's stupid to have an upcharge on a rollercoaster
I agree. At the same time though it opened the door to new experiences like this, so I have mixed feelings.
I feel like the only reason they do it is to make the queue tolerable. If it wasn't an upcharge, basically everyone would just line up for the spinning seat, so making it an upcharge should hopefully balance it out.

Ouch. I didn't realize it was an upcharge. That's awful and brilliant at the same time, because they know us enthusiasts will pony up the money at least once, and if it's as good as it looks, and they don't try charging TOO much, probably every visit. It's a slippery slope. I love the way this looks - it seems to be incredible - so I'd love to see the spinning car (or cars) on more rides worldwide, but if everyone who does it ends up following this business model, I'm gonna be p!ssed!
@@lightfantastik Yeah, it's a very slippery slope for sure. Will be interesting to see how it plays out in the future. Regarding Steel Taipan's, I did it once spinning and it was crazy. Definitely the most intense Roller Coaster experience in Australia. The heartline roll at the end was bonkers and genuinely scared me!
