Most annoying thing about driving my civic on the street? Every fawker wants to race me or thinks I'm trying to race lol. We track racers, not street ricers 😂

As a 6th gen owner, i can relate to a few of these problems such as the mirror moving around constantly and my wiper switch flipping the wipers after hard hits. Other than that, my interior is in pretty good shape.
I know the feeling of dust falling when pulling the sun visor down. After a while of me getting tired of it, I paid an auto upholstery shop to redo both visors. Within the day they were ready and had the same fabric as the ceiling fabric. Cost a bit but worth it. 👍
I bet they are well worth the cost of having the sun visors professionally redone!
I think I spent around $30 for each visor. I thought that was a little pricey but it's a bargain compared to OEM visors that sell for far more! If I remember I'll get photos of the visors after my car returns from the shop.
I had the same issues with the wipers 😅my fix was just a new switch, cheap fix from rock auto & as for the rear view mirror, you can do a simple hack with just removing morrow from assembly and adding some electric tape on the little ball it connects to,works like a charm
Can't wait to see the headliner removal, i need to change out my sunroof cover and I've never attempted that before. Looking forward to learning!

I used to have a 1997 Matador Pearl Red Civic EK3 best car I ever had!
Man, remove the cluster and take the SRS bulb out.. (Is the light bothers you) Also, grab the rear view mirror and remove the top cap, and it will have some sort of pillow ball and a meta clip, grab a piece of paper and fold it and put it in between the two pieces.. That would make the mirror be a bit stiffer for the future. 👍🏽

My last 2000 civic had that mirror issue, its an easy fix! There is a clip thats holds the joint on the back of the mirror when removed. Just adjust it to where it tightens the joint. You'll know what I'm trying to describe when you look at the back of the mirror when you remove it.
My EK has electric windows but man they're sketchy. One won't go all the way down and the seals are all messed up, so they rattle hard asf. And the rear view mirror 😂 so relatable. I think my stiffer motor mounts are causing everything to rattle loose over time
This video was cracking me up, lol. My ek hatch has like 75% of the same problems. Speaking of which, idk what your plans are for the sun visors but im thinking about trying to find a similar colored sweatshirt type of fleece and get enough to do my headliner and both visors so they match. Doubt anyone would notice then, and itd be way more durable than that thin oem fabric. Since it wouldnt have the foam underneath, i think it would come down to picking the right weight of fabric for a smooth clean look. Either way, i look forward to your progress. Good luck!!
I’m glad you enjoyed the watch, I was laughing the whole time making it so fun all around, thank you! I actually completed my headliner re-cover, you’ll be seeing that soon, and I will say that having something foam backed seems the way to go. Or at least like you said, something thicker.
Reason being is that if it’s too thin and you go through the whole process of scraping off the old foam from the headliner board (which I did) then you’ll see all the imperfections of the headliner board through the thin fabric. I hope I described that well.
But thanks for your encouragement and good luck with your own project. Its really worth the while when you see it all the way through and it’s done. I did my carpet too and now the interior looks so good! You’ll see in the coming weeks!
“Double Wishbones all around” means you have the choice to either lower or raise it conveniently w/o modification, as the tire road-holding angle remains amazingly even. I chose the latter w/o using any sway bar, & the car rides comfortably almost like a hovercraft. Riding on 185/65-14 (6"-wide wheels), the car oversteers even w/o pulling the parking brake -- a fun low-speed drifter when paired with 320mm Momo steering wheel.
I have all those same problems on my hatch as well except for the windows and the good vs bad side. My problem is rust on where the hatch connects to the body is really bad
I had a similar issue with the wiper switch but mine would shoot the wiper fluid I changed it with a Eg hatch switch that has a rear window wiper as well
I've had the same problem with the windshield wiper falling when i hit speed bumps or take off to quick, a temporary fix that became permanent was just a multiple folded sheet of paper wedged under the stick it keeps it from falling and having your wipers go off in traffic i know the feeling lol I'd check the junkyard for a new sun visor but ek's and eg's are getting harder to find
That’s a clever idea with the folded sheets of paper wedged in haha! Good thinking. I’ve found quite a few of those arms in my local junkyard so I’ll be picking one out. You know it though that the sun visors are hard to find in the yard. I’ve never seen one that looks good anyway!
I've got a 98 EXr coupe and the driver side window track broke out of nowhere. Took it to a window guy nearby and he disassembled a few tracks he had lying around, welded up a new one and it's good as new now!! But yeah it was problematic haha.
Paint looks fine. Get a good PDR (paintless dent removal) tech and have him remove your dents without repainting. That’s way better than losing your factory finish and quicker.
You can use eg or integra wiper switch just make sure it was a rear wiper if your hatch has a rear wiper also

Just bought a 96 sedan ek for a daily too . Same. Problems to
-had to change wiper switch
- swapped visors
- going to work headliner
- fuel gauge is going whacky .. always looks low on gas
Headliner on all these cars is usually in pretty bad shape isn’t it. I just finished refreshing my whole interior on this car, those videos starting next week!
My mirror used to do that, but i wrapped electrical tape on the ball where the mirror connects to it to make it tighter, the bushing is probably worn out.
The most annoying thing for me driving my 2000 Ek sedan. Probably would have to be finding good visors. Might attempt to do a reupholster video in the future. Hopefully someone does one for the oem community. 20 year old sun faded seats need a refresher. 💯👌🏻 on the Video.

I got two questions family. Really hope you see and reply to this. First off, love the contents. My two questions are: Where did you got those rims for the civic? The white one I'm refering about; and finally, what size nitrite gloves do you wear? For the blue and black. Reason for asking is that I don't want to work on vehciles and can't get proper "grips" on for say bolts on so so what size you do wear? Small mediums? Thank you.
The wheels on the white EG are 949 Racing 6UL’s 15x8. The gloves lol, I wear whatever is around.
I would’ve called insurance. You can’t let people push you around.
I'm in Australia my father is in a nursing home ok I got a full resto done to his car which is an e1 Honda Civic that turns heads everywhere ❤ every one loves it !!! Me I just got to find someone to fill the passenger seat !!!

I drive the same Civic about 10 years and never seen these problems ever.
My windows is electric :) and still working without problems.
I have the same issue with my mirror. A friend suggested putting glue but haven't done so.
I believe you can remove the bottom cover and bend a piece of metal tab and it should stiff up the mirror

Yo dude in 9 months i changed my wipers switch 3 times on my coupe so i think this might be a problem in the part herself
!!!Pointers!!!!Theres a way to fix that rear view mirror that falls down. In my ek, when u take it off the ceiling, pop open the cap where the adjusting ball is. Then there will be a clip with a screw. Unscrew it and use black tape on one of the clips end 2-3x and screw it back on. I also use a blade to trim the black tape so its shaped like the clip. Mirror wont fall when u hit bumps anymore. You can still adjust it. Basically that clip with the screw pushes on the adjusting ball to keep it tight in place.

@@RefineMovement i just figure it out a month ago cause my broadway mirror keep falling down and wouldnt stay on. Usually id go to junk yard to grab a rear view off an integra DA.

lol, I had the same issues on my coupe with the wiper stalk, the sun visor, etc. With my wipers on my beater EK coupe, I ended up buying a used wiper stalk to fix it, but yes you just need the Philips screw driver to swap it out.
The build quality of the EK really disappointed me, things felt cheaper vs the multiple integras I've had. And Im shocked the shitty 7th gens seem to have better materials and I think the EG seems to hold up better too?
Have you seen if someone can PDR the driver side of the car? Keep us updated on the quality of the aftermarket carpet, I've heard mixed reviews.
I hear you. I guess a civic is always a civic. Integra was supposed to be a nicer car, right? That’s the intention of Acura anyway.
Yeah PDR, Travis has mentioned that to me. Could be very good to remove the bad spots.

@@RefineMovement I think it also extends beyond the interior material build quality, because the EK seems like it has more rear subframe issues vs the integra/EG. I still can't figure out the wiper stalk breaking like that though, especially when the part feels like every other honda/acura I've drive, yet none have broken my EK's and yours did lol
Not sure what your PDR budget is, but I'd recommend The Dent Company in Tampa for PDR work especially if you are picky about keeping as much of your car vin matching. Had multiple friends that recommend him and my brother had some pdr work fixed by him instagram.com/thedentcompany/?hl=en
It’s kinda easy to fix that rear view mirror. But at least you’ve replaced it already.
Whenever I put reverse my rear wiper starts wiping... Some guys from a forum told me that this might be due to bad grounds.
Mine was the actual physical switch, it feels like it just fell apart, due to how it wobbled like a joystick

I’m not sure man. Some creative suggestions in the comments here for some things but I’m just replacing the mirror. At the local junkyard it was just a couple bucks

You should get Integra fake leather sun visors and drill in some Integra side mirrors too
Get the visors off an Integra of the same vintage. They fit and are of superior quality.
dont even use a rearview anymore. I've been using my sideview mirrors for three months and I like those much more
My civic does the same thing with the wipers. When I bounce it off 2 step and get the Whirly bird spinning and drop the clutch and it starts to wheel hop. Lmao.
The thing is it is a older civic and these are small things that are annoying but fixable
