    Just built a 916, H1 size - absolutely love the thing. Will be running it mullet soon, but after waiting about 5 years to own a Hope, this bike does not disappoint.

      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes mate, great choice. Bet Mullet will feel awesome on the H1 as it'll make the proportionately longer rear end pop and slide better.

      @@GuyKesTV Yeah, some guys are running theirs mullet and preferring it so far. Running a coil out back too. Glad you enjoyed it!

    The tech 4 brakes are fantastic, been running them since they came out and they haven't skipped a beat. This 916 is definitely my next bike, great review as always .

    I wonder what year 1 sounded like:
    “I’m Guy KesTV, and I’ve been a professional kit tester for over 8 months!”

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      haha, year 1 I was sending my words down to MBR magazine in London on a 3.5in floppy disc and doing any corrections/captions by fax. The idea of talking to a tiny camera while riding a bike and then sticking it on a TV channel the whole world could see (I didn't start working on a website till '2000) would have been nuts!

    May have been cold, but looked an awesome day to be riding up there 👍🏻

      It was beautiful up there but I got three separate chilblains riding that day and they've only just gone 🥶

    Gorgeous bike. Prime conditions for Ilkley Moor 👌🏼
    Hoping to get up there next week.

      No not yet, but it's on the list. And the Deviate Highlander too which should be an interesting comparison

    Hi Guy, what are the fizik winter boots like?

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      They're pretty good but very expensive so I'd probably say go for the Shimano WM5 or 7s that are just as good and a lot better value

    Curious about the sizing, not exactly sure why but would have expected you on a H3 any comments on how feels as a size and would you want it bigger? Numbers on paper is only one side of the story, sometimes they just feel big or small.

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it was only me riding it then I probably would have gone H3 but I knew my wingman Jim (way radder than me) would be riding it a lot and he's shorter than I am so he fitted on the H2 really well.

    Hi Guy, love your vids and enjoyed your reviews since the magazine days. I'm pushing 50 and I'm looking to get back into it. My last bike was a Patriot XC with Psylo forks (remember those)?! I'm looking at a 2nd hand YT Izzo. (sub 30lbs,120/130mm) Any other recommendations? (4 grand tops!). Thanks

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great to have you back on the trails fella. Izzo is an awesome all rounder and I guess you can always make a nice Psylo 'gem' top cap out of some kids plastic jewellery 🤣

    • @thebeatclinic9000
      @thebeatclinic9000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @GuyKesTV I forgot about those top caps. Ha ha. Thanks for taking the time to respond. You've made my decision a little easier. 👍

      @GuyKesTV Just thought I'd tell you that I bought an Izzo Pro Race. I haven't ridden it in anger yet, but I've been tinkering, cleaning and staring at it a lot more than is healthy! 😁

    Late to the party but is there any draw back with this bike? Mine arrives Jan 2024

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only thing I’d say is that it makes everything feel super easy and calm even on crazy stuff. So not the best if you want to feel an edgy hero on mild terrain but awesome if you want to go really big and fast without shitting your pants 🤣

    she sounds nice and quiet, no rattling from the loose internal cables?

    • @RossW89
      @RossW89 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No loose cabling. Theres a bridge clamp inside the butty box that keeps the cabling from moving along with individual rubber sleeves that you feed the hoses through when doing your routing (not full end to end routing, just sections of tubing you manually put in place)

    • @didzy9349
      @didzy9349 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RossW89 ah right okey doke so like foam insulation in parts over the whole cables you mean, does this do a good job of stopping rattling then? almost silent hopefully

    • @Ross_BikeWrap
      @Ross_BikeWrap ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@didzy9349 No rattles so far from mine. So when you route the cabling, the frame comes with 3 x sections of rubber tubing. When you route the cables you slide a section of the rubber cabling over the brake/dropper hoses. Theres also a bridge clamp inside you tighten down that the cables pass thru. In addition you also have a storage bag in there inside the butty box so Ive heard zero rattling whatsover since I built it. Its a bit of a faff doing the cable routing on this frame though i will say that but nothing a beer and time doesnt get around lol

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only irritating noise while I was riding was me 🤣The cables were totally quiet in the occasional gaps between talking.

    Again Yorkshire though that part of Yorkshire is managed by Lancashire county council, no relation to the county of Lancashire which is why people get confused but we’re not fooled and we won’t have any Yorkies in our ranks. 😂
