    Many of us worship Yngwie and Van Halen. Yet more is said with a few repeated notes in this main guitar lead. Great job as always Steve.

    Thank you sir. You have honored the man in the greatest way possible, his music.His talent and approach to music and vocals was a little different than some. But the heart and soul was always deep inside. Heroes is one of my favorite songs. I have enjoyed your video lesson for a while and love what you do for those of us who are still learning. Thank you again :)Take care and may God bless

    Great - thanks for the lesson! In the early 80's before getting up my nerve to look for an all "girl" band to join in San Francisco I took a rock band course at the Blue Bear School of Music and one of the songs we did for our performance was Rebel Rebel - I just played rhythm guitar and another person played the iconic riff. Listening to this I can really appreciate the unusual and beautiful chord progression and approach.

    Very good lesson.....I have just read Fripp quoted as saying he did not use an Ebow on Heroes but others use it to try to emulate his performance....he said it was a Les Paul into a Marshall in combination with his technique to get those great tones and sustain.

      If you listen to Visconti he states they had an arrangement of mikes across the studio, sound triggered at distances to give layers of delay to Fripp's playing,, whilst he was apparently just whilst sitting in a corner doing as Tony told him with his jazz chords....... :)

    Thank your for taking the time, Steve. Very informed lesson.( Hard to believe it has been a year.) One point / question: at the "we can be heroes" part I always played Am, Em, D (that's what I heard). (Of course, with the various parts you're playing, it may sound the same.)

    I have a question for the part @ 12:40. Do you have any effects that causes the sound to keep on playing?
    I tried to play this today but as soon as i hit the fret again after the strum the sound just stops, as if its being cut off. While in the video its kinda like a smooth transition from one strum into the other. (I hope i explained it good enough, english is not my first language, sorry for that)
    Sorry if this is a dumb question, im still relatively new to the guitar.

    • @Guitarzoom
      @Guitarzoom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Thanks for the comment. No worries. Well what makes the sound extend is some reverb. Most amps have a reverb effect. Try it and see if that works better for you. Hope this helps.

      @datrealboi3881 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Guitarzoom Hey! Thank you for your answer, sadly my amp doesn't have that effect (I guess thats what i got for trying to save some money😅). But it does help for sure, thank you! :)

      Although on the link I left above, I wish the camera had been on Robert Fripp the entire time. It was Fripp who played on the Bowie track, Brian Eno called him in. It was no keyboard, it was Fripp!

    • @heracleummantegazzianum429
      @heracleummantegazzianum429 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Steve Stine i think that part was played by Robert Fripp on the record. Since eno was involved pehaps he used frippertronics or a ebow/sustainer.

    I believe A and E are minor chords. Worth mentioning in case you play the whole chord, not just the power chord.

    • @gatoryak7332
      @gatoryak7332 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the power chords sound better, especially where you call for an Em. On just one acoustic guitar, I think a Gmaj sounds better than Em, but E power chord also sounds better than Em.
