  • The 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel is arguably one of the best truck platforms ever built. People love their 7.3's. We do too, and that's why we run them for our landscaping business! They are commonly referred to as "legendary" motors, which they were for the first 10-15 years, but now are reaching a breaking point at 20+ years old. Parts breaking, non-stop oil leaks, fuel leaks, and other problems due to simply how old the truck is: these make them far from turn-key and go without being addressed. Leaking on a customer's driveway is not an option as a professional business. This video displays common issues and what to expect/look for on one of the trucks at this time period of 2023. Having a good attitude of realizing the truck is not new is probably the most important thing because things can and will break. We show you what does break, what to fix, how to smartly purchase a truck, and everything of that sort. The video is mostly directed at 99-03s, but the same concept applies to the OBS as well. Coming very soon in a video will be a full break down and walkthrough of how to get a 7.3 back up to speed so it can be reliable again. Once we do all of the necessary gaskets, part replacements, and go-overs, we trust every one of our 7.3's to go across the country and back and be leak free and trouble free. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel, and we hope you enjoy the video!

Don't buy any truck this old unless you're fully prepared to spend a lot of time laying underneath of it.

Can we say misleading thumb pic for this video? I own a 2000 7.3 with 290k and in the last 70k miles I’ve owned it, it’s only not started once due to the nut on the glow plug relay finally working its way loose. He’s just trying to get viewers. Any truck or vehicle with significant mileage will inevitably have things fail but try comparing it to a 6,0, 6.4 or even a 6.7 and the 7.3 will run circles around them reliability wise.

You all are way to picky..

You only mention powerstrokes through '99 to '03 You're not a true power stroker

I would totally bring my 7.3 down to you guys. I need to do injectors, turbo, oil pan, and then all the stuff you mentioned. I’d love to get it done

The old man gave me his and I spent all my money to buy a clean body dually from the south. Honestly gonna buy one more because I don’t wanna drive and work on a different truck. Long live the 7.3

Just picked up a 99 350 2wd. Only 189,000 miles. Well cared for. No leaks, rust, etc. Nice truck. 9k. I'm very happy camper here. 😊

Just grabbed up a fairly clean 97 f250 hd powerstroke. 4x4. Extended cab. It’s got a small amount of rust starting at the bottom of the cab. But not bad yet. Think I can get it stopped paid 5g. 220k miles. I’m in love

Have had a 01 super duty 7.3 for a year and a half now from 226k to 248k miles no issues just threw some rims on that bih the other day just change oil and fluids

  • @DavidWaltersJrDrum

    I just got a 97 F-250 HD for $2,000.

  • @hobbeekid

My 03 f250 7.3 I replaced the factory fuel lines with aeroquip -4 braided lines and fittings along with Russell -4 inline filters. works like a charm.

  • @lonniedomnitz1720

You’re making me feel really good about hanging on to my California (really zero rust) 02 F250 7.3 :) never towed anything. 155K and i keep a maintenance log. Now I’m going to replace the (hopefully) worn out shifter column bushings.

A lot of great information guys. Glad to see you guys taking care of your trucks. That should be a great service to do in the winter on these 7.3's. You guys are going to make a run on these trucks lol. Keep up the great work guys. Great video.

  • @stevenmcclure9903

I agree with you about keeping these trucks. I have a 99.5 F250 and I did exactly what you guys do. Pulled the engine and completely resealed it. I also did head studs one at a time. I have dumped a lot of money in the engine, but it's not exactly going to be strictly for work.

  • @gilbertherrera5166

    Love the video. Great work.

  • @watermill3964

    Great information .... I'm on the process of buying a 01 7.3

  • @MoBill122
