Ian - his voice for Shadow fit after he's no longer bound by the trama of his past and looking forward to protecting his new home.
1. Ian Hanlin. Without a doubt, my favorite Shadow portrayal. He's got both the gruffness and the bass that Shadow needs, and he's got the most life in his voice out of all of them. 2. Jason Griffith. His portrayal in Sonic X was a little weak, but he got a good grasp on the voice in Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06. There's a reason his take is so iconic. 3. David Humphries. He was at his strongest in Sonic Heroes. Honestly, I think he was underserved by the sound mixing in SA2, but he does a very good job in the most important scenes. 4. Kirk Thornton. I don't think he's bad per se, but he hasn't had the best opportunities to show his skill. Even in the Sonic X Shadow Generations animation, though, I think he lacks some important grit to his voice to make him as versatile as the others. I think it would be unfair to rank Keanu Reaves since he's only been in one movie trailer so far, but I anticipate I will really like him.

Kudos to Kirk Thornton. He vastly improved from his earlier appearances in Boom and Free Riders. He doesn’t just sound like an angsty teen with a frog in his throat anymore. He’s actually been nailing Shadow’s smoothness more recently.
Ian Hanlin for sure! This is the first time Shadow actually sounds eloquent and intelligent. The others make him sound edgy but imo there is no depth to it (Keanu excluded because we haven't heard much of him yet). But I must say I did like the way Kirk voiced Shadow in the recent Sonic X Shadow Dark Generations episode. There was certain warmth to it that I really liked.
David Humphrey will always be the best for me. Nails the slight edginess yet the warm heart Shadow truly has deep down. Also sounds like he listens to the music that plays through his levels haha But very excited to hear more of Keanu Reeves

SA2 and Sonic X Shadows’ are my childhood Shadow voices but seeing Sonic Prime and Shadow there with Ian’s voice was SO REFRESHING and good! Since then this is my favourite out of all the others ❤
I just adore David’s ability to make Shadow sound intimidating when he feels he needs to be, but softer and more emotional when he feels unsure or vulnerable or really anything other than angry. Jason and Kirk to me just sound too unnatural and forced. Ian was perfect for Shadow in Sonic Prime, since he was written as a much more confident, self-assured character, and really nailed it with Shadow’s growls and lower register too. I’m excited to hear Keanu’s Shadow performance, I think he has the potential to be a good mix of David’s emotional voice and Ian’s aggressive, confident voice.
It’s hard to say. Jason Griffith I’ve been the most familiar with and is probably my favorite. David Humphrey is great, but it’s a shame he had a short run when Sonic’s transition to 3D was still rough. Kirk Thornton I didn’t like for a while but he really grew into the role and the recent shorts showed it. Ian Hanlin I think is secretly the best. He has the best range. And I can’t wait to see how Keanu voices Shadow. Very excited for the movie.

Ian ftw
David Humphrey is my favorite since the beginning, but I think Ian Hanlin made a good job in Prime! 👍🏻✨
Sonic after shadow warps
“KUHHH”
Legends
Jason without a doubt cuz he sounds like Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne
I won't even complain if this movie has a bad ending for sonic... That shadow sound so dark😅😅😅
My favorite voice actor for Shadow is Keanu Reeves.
Bruh I love shadow sm
I like Jason griffin I think he does a better job voicing shadow Don’t you agree
If I were to choose the true voice of Shadow, it would be Kirk Thornton, for his foreboding voice and dark tone.
😂
3:23 what game is that called
Sonic X Shadow Generations
It's greatfull and understanding Kirk Thorton has upgrade his Shadow's Cast.
In the series, wasn't interesting as Roger Craig Smith as Sonic.
It was weird and too old for him.
1. Jason Griffith
2. Ian Hanlin
3. Kirk Thornton (as of Sonic x Shadow generations)
4. David Humphries
So David is last because Kirk got better? Kirk still has the problem of sounding a little too old, while David has a voice of youth with flexibility.
Jason Griffith is my favorite
I wasn't really a fan of Kirk Thornton's performance since I had only heard his voice in Sonic Boom but I think he's grown well into the role with Sonic x Shadow Generations
Omg i want Kirk Thornton to say «Metal gear rising: Revengenance».
