    What I’ve noticed about online trolls is they often sound like immature teenagers. They are not hiding their disdain for others and they are easy to spot. Being emotionally immature must be a given for psychopaths and narcissists bc when they DESIRE to hurt others it indicates they are debased and half baked like some nasty meat pie left out to spoil, but sometimes they are deft enough to imitate what they know is expected emotionally to attract their victims. They play along being nice for quite awhile as they covertly begin their manipulation and exploitation of their prey. When enough of their machinations get revealed and the jig is up, the mask comes off and they go for the throat and attempt to destroy the host.

    A former friend told me that after the wedding reception, when all the guests had left, her previously gallant husband left her standing outside in the cold in her dress and took unnecessarily long to fetch the car. He never apologised. After the wedding he was only kind to her when there were other people around. Only her parents got glimpses of who he really was, everyone else fell for his charming guise.

    I put them in the group of narcissists, sociopaths, then psychopaths in worse and worse traits. If you notice they have very similar traits regarding the fact that they don't actually feel emotions or have genuine feelings, but can ACT like it. And are basically like a machine or piece of wood as far as empathy or compassion or caring about their fellow human beings (or animals).

    I don't know if the individual is a psychopath, but definitely cold, callous, and apathetic: "I did what I had to do." This was a text message. His conduct in person was like someone I had just met and had known him 16 years by that time.

    I think my mother is a psychopath. She's a serial liar. Narcissists might truly believe their own lies. Psychopaths know they are lying and take pleasure in their victims knowing too.

      Not all psychopaths are sadistic. For the majority of them (I guess) the end goal is to get what they want and not to make people feel pain. If that happens, to bad for the victim. For a sadistic person the goal is the pain.

    They will, "apologize" whenever it benefits them or their agenda. However, it's never genuine, only another form of mimicry in order to manipulate and direct the course of their victim's thoughts, actions and their beliefs or perceptions towards them (how the victim perceives them).

    The distinction amongst Psychopathy, Narcissism and Machiavellianism is the underlying motive for gain and orientation socially; 'hardness, callousness, lack of remorse, empathy, using others, discarding of them later - are all features of the three. The Dark Triad (and now Tetrad) is applied Forensically only. 'Disordered' is only used to apply to someone's Personality - ie a disorder of Personality - and not to 'having disordered thoughts.'

    Psychopaths get entertainment value from other people's misfortune and laugh out loud at news stories that involve terrible accidents where people are killed through their own mistakes. One of my former friends told me about a mutual friend who had a drink problem and that his doctor had told him that he would not live another year if he carried on, so while my ex friend was telling me this he was laughing about it, he found it entertaining, something the rest of us would be horrified or disturbed by, he found amusing.

    There is a way to spot them: they can't fake being normal a 100% of the time. They have learned to fake emotions but they do not understand them. There is that moment when they show what goes inside: the cold stare, the emotion in the face doesn't go with the speech... Ignore these red flags at your own risk. Be on guard from that moment on and FOR GOODNESS SAKE DO NOT TRUST THE PERSON.

    I recently watched a video by Sam Vaknin in which he claimed that he had been diagnosed with both narcissism and psychopathy, which struck me as odd because narcissists are utterly dependent on input from others to maintain their grandiosity but I thought psychopaths were self contained and felt superior regardless of other peoples reaction to them.

    • @Melissa0774
      @Melissa0774 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I don't get that either. I thought maybe he's more of a narcissist than anything and maybe he is utterly dependent on the input he gets from others through his TH-cam channel and his books. But they did do a documentary about him, called I Psychopath, where he actually visited neuroscience and psychology researchers in various countries and had brain scans and everything. That was when he was diagnosed as a psychopath. It's on TH-cam for free.

Another funny thing about Vaknin is that he does videos about how to overcome narcissistic abuse , how to be emotionally healthy, how to be fully adult etc and you would think that he is no expert on those topics ! I suppose its all through cognition/reasoning using research because he believes he will never overcome his personality disorders.
