    Sam - the U.K. Hanna rep told me they are replacing the magnesium reagents for a powder sachet for an August delivery and they will be simpler to use and they will replace any reagents you have already bought - not bad customer service.

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I heard the will replace the reagent but it won’t be a powder but a correct strength liquid.
      A good response indeed, although a little late considering the number of complaints they had about the unit on day 1

      @@ParkersReef Like I said Sam - Hanna U.K. phoned me as I sometimes buy things directly from then and had asked the question about replacing the duff reagents and that’s when they said it was changing to a powder and it would make it less hassle as it would work like the phosphorus and high range nitrate checkers do - I will see when the new stuff arrives next month 🤔

    Yeaaah I'm gonna go with a big fat NOT. For me personally, 15 mins for a test is an annoying amount of time to wait not to mention the amount of steps it takes for the Ammonia test. The Mag test appears to be a mess if it's reading so high compared to your several other methods. Think I'll keep with Salifert for those ones. Cheers for the vid!

      @@ParkersReef BTW - slightly higher was 1350 to 1425. I now suspect NYOS has been reading high (or I am not counting drops correctly/bad colour perception - why I wanted to try the Hanna!) and I tested both kits in NSW and both were higher that I expected. On my last ICP NYOS read 1400 and ICP 1315. For now, taking 150 (very scientific!) of the Hanna reading gives me a realistic result.

    Brought my Hanna mag checker on release, sent it straight back to Hanna as I thought it was faulty with inconsistent readings! They said no fault with the checker, so took it back the shop where I had it from, and they sent it back to hanna, it came back as no fault but they sent me a new pack of reagents. I already bought 2 units of magnesium checker, both are not accurate.
    they gave me high results, the same as you.
    and again I tried 2 checkers.
    it seems that Hanna made bad work.
    I bought mine checker from EU .
    but they both are not accurate.
    I am very disappointed.
    this unit costs more than other Hanna's checker.
    but it is worth nothing.
    I tried too the Aqua forest ICP solution.
    the problem didn't solve.
    Sorry.
    my recommendation for you, please wait with this item.
    don't buy it until we will find proper solution.

    Your not supposed to shake the Hanna ammonia vials to mix the reagent. Your supposed to gently invert the vials until there are no more powder left in the vial . Shaking it will cause excess bubbles

    • @ParkersReef
      @ParkersReef  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah fair point. I did give it plenty of time to ensure the bubbles had dissipated at least

    Anyone that wants an answer from Hanna good luck with that. They are useless in the UK especially at dealing with customers issues. It's as if they all have a phobia of talking to non retailers

    Otherwise it’s going to be inaccurate procedure
