I bought this kit to test for Magnesium levels in our saltwater swimming pool. But when I add the reagent that's supposed to turn the water dark pink, it actually turns dark blue. There's no mention of this in the directions. Can anyone help? We've repeated the test several times with the same results, and we've followed the instructions exactly.
BRS recomends this kit and 3 people saying its doing this is scary! I never check magnesium because I hate the red sea I have so I was going to buy this!

Just bought AF mag test kit and very disappointed due the inaccurate reading. After multiple test including the sample solution provided. The read out consistently 100+ than the actual number. ( if the reading on the test is 1500 then its should only be at 1400) :(
If the reading of the reference solution is higher than it should be, then most probably the reference solution got concentrated due to evaporation. If you wish you can PM us your shipping data -we'll provide you with the new one.
Our reference solution has been enclosed for comparative purpose, and is intended to validate precision of the results. We recommend to periodically perform full testing procedure with this fluid to verify test kit accuracy. The parameters of this solution are clearly marked on the label and/or on the enclosed leaflet.

This test kit is not good at all, why does drops A need to be based on calcium level?
