Boy is this beautiful, thanks for uploading. For those of us who think "Around" is Tom''s masterpiece, this modal improvisatory stuff is the esoteric heart of his music - where he shares a space in the Kingdom with Hildegard von Bingen and Hank Marvin.

@Bobjb999 holy hell... Bowie makes this song soar!.. you gotta be kidding me, but I understand, such things are subjective, and if you're an old school Verlaine fan I can see you being taken aback by it. Tom Verlaine should be thankful, not spiteful, that Bowie chose to cover his song, because millions of people now know wtf he is who never would have.
☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕ Bowel blockage? I don't like the sound of that! You can't hear bowel blockage. What was that then? My God! It sounded like bowel blockage!!! ☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕
One of my least fave songs from Tom's first solo album. Bowie's version's no better. I don't know why Bowie chose that one to cover. He should have covered Television's "Kingdom Come" ( a completely different song in words & music - only the title is the same) instead! Bowie was once quoted in the '70s as saying something like "the only band I can listen to is Television". Tom said he didn't "go along" with Bowie's version - a polite way of saying he thought it sucked?

Burning a lifeguard to illustrate the concept
of irony is like drowning a fire man.
Is it good? Don't know, but I like it very much.
@modeleagle Bowie is indeed a master, musically

God created Adam & Eve, not Adam & some other guy.
