Battlestar Galactica I told you i picked up the DVD series. I forgot just how good it is. I really was amazed at the hard decisions they had to make. And if you look at what is going on with Artificial Intelligence today and It makes me think are we going to far. It also made me ask myself questions could I have made the same hard decisions and whats right and whats wrong. This series was so well written, actted and make one think

I agree with you in 5 of them. I missed Imperial Assault (my number 1)and Arkham Horror Lcg (my number 3). Personally, I like a lot Fallout with the solo expansion. 10. Fallout with Solo Expansión 9. Arkham Horror 3rd Ed 8. Mansions of Madness 2nd 7. Civilization a New Dawn with expansión 6. X Wing 5. Eldritch Horror 4. Game of Thrones the boardgame 3. Arkham Horror Lcg 2. Star Wars Rebellion 1. Imperial Assault
I really like Eldritch Horror but its outstay his welcome almost everytime I get it to the table. Only if FFG could do another version that take less long I would consider it among my favorite game.
AH... Fantasy Flight! None of the games are bad, but here are my Fav's... #1/OPERATION TANNHAUSER... great painted mini's, well supported, varied play from four different factions that work entirely differently... fantastic sandbox games! 2/Mansions of Madness... lots of options.3/ Age of War (small game group)... small footprint, great dice rolling game. 4/ CONDOTIERRE... a universe in a box! Unify Italy by raising mercenaries, great strategy.5/ END OF THE WORLD series of RPG's in which YOU as a regular person are thrust into everything going to hell... good luck.6/ X-Wing... love the mini's, and tactical combat... more the merrier.7/Imperial Assault... tactical mini's, modular boards... fun!.8/REX... stab them in the back, with some class.9/Letters from White Chapel.... great hide and seek game.10/ Star Wars character reference books... lots of great information, to create any number of characters. *** Games I WISH that Fantasy Flight would invest in..... DUST TACTICS, amazing mini's, and support. GEARS OF WAR!... what a sandbox game ... as tough or easy as you want to make it.
While they've waivered quite a bit since their acquisition by Asmodee, FFG has traditionally been one of my most-loved publishers. A good portion of my collection is FFG published games. Here's my personal top 10: 10) Mission: Red Planet 2nd Ed. 9) KeyForge 8) Blue Moon Legends 7) Star Wars: Rebellion 6) Android: Netrunner 5) DOOM: The Board Game (2016) 4) Twilight Imperium 4th Ed. 3) Marvel Champions: LCG 2) Wiz-War 8th Ed. 1) Cosmic Encounter
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer It is honestly hard to pick just 10. There are so many others, including stuff from your list that I want to call out as great games. Thanks, Cody!
It would have been, but since WizKids was the last to print it, and that is the copy I own, I did not really feel like it fit here. Otherwise, it would have been on here for sure.
Do you have or could you make an expansion ranking for mansions of madness? Since you have them all it would be interesting to know your buy order for someone who only has the base game.
That sounds great, but in order to do it justice I think I’d have to go back and play through scenarios from them all, and I just don’t have the time. Thanks!
@@heikkihegemon493 depends, if you re a big fan of the IP and love heavy and long strategy games, yeah game of Thrones is pretty good. I definitely agree with your assessment of TI4. I do, however, have a question on Outer Rim. I am not so concerned of it is a good solo game but is it a good Han Solo game? 😀
Rebellion - 3 played actually kinda works if the 2 are on the Empire. I have TI4 but havent played it yet. Is it worth it to buy the expansion? Or should I wait to play it first? Excellent list. Weird I own most of these games too.
I love it with the expansion, but it’s great without it too. Generally, I won’t buy an expansion if I haven’t played the core game. I’ve been burned in the past.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer it's certainly not on the same level as the games on your list, but it's a decent dudes on a map game with classic fantasy tropes. It's a smsll-box game.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer thanks a lot for your answer. They're both dangerous games for one's wallet. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I sense you're more into science fiction as opposed to fantasy.
There weren't enough cards in the game initially. That's why people have been waiting for an expansion for a long time. It's a great game, it just needed more. Finally, the new expansion should bring some much needed replay-ability to the game.
For myself 1. Marvel Champions 2 Outer Rim 3 Rebellion 4 Gears of War 5 Imperial Assault 6 Star Wars Destiny 7 Fallout 8 Mansions of Madness 9 Star Wars LCG 10 Arkham Horror LCG
This was a hard list to make. So many great games over the years. I don’t know if you have had a chance to play it, but Ark Nova uses the same card system as the Civilization game
Most of your honorable mentions would be in my top 10. It's a shame but I haven't really cared for most of the more recent releases from Fantasy Flight, including Outer Rim. It just felt like a watered down Merchants and Marauders with a Star Wars coat of paint to me. Hopefully the expansion will improve it.
Mom, Cody is trying to turn out of print game, Through the Desert, into the out of print Campaign for North Africa wargame again! He says that the original game lacked enough camels! He means both games... 🥷

Legacy of Dragonholt is one that would be on my list... it does a "D&D adventure" without a DM pretty well. Nikki Valens is a fantastic writer.

Civilization or Clash of Cultures? I can't decide which one to get.
