I love how cats can be walking along with a purpose then suddenly stop and go “oh, I gotta lick that spot right there, right now”.
Cats have to look good all the time. They can't be seen with fur out of place. Grooming is essential.
Well it is similar to how us have to scratch certain spot because it is itchy

@@TabbyCatBobbie Ferrets are notorious for this. They'll be furiously playing and bouncing around and then everything will suddenly stop to chew an itch or sniff a spot of the ground that caught their attention, then they're back to spazzing out again.
There was a small piece of lint or something stuck to the tail :D

You know... doctors say that the purrs of a cat actually stimulate healing. I had a bad heart for years and was sure that I would have a spontaneous heart attack at any moment until I went to go stay with my younger brother whom owned a cat much like Archie. He would spend hours laying on my chest while I pet him. Within a few months all my heart problems disappeared. \o/
