- TM Krishna concluded his recital at the FEA-curated Karnatic Modern II concert with a composition by Perumal Murugan entitled "Nee Matumme" in Raga Kapi. The lyrics were put to tune by Arunprakash Krishnan.
Krishna was accompanied by Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, Arunprakash Krishnan on mridangam and Guru Prasad on ghatam. Tanpura support was provided by Rithvik Raja and Surabhi Seshadri. - เพลง

I my translation I tried to strictly follow the lyrics structure and come up with words... A good translator may place the words differently

There is a famous quote by Charlie Parker a great jazz saxophonist of the 40's and 50's. Something like 'learn all that and then forget about it'. South India has so many top level masters, but the mastery mixed with honesty and expressive passion that TM Krishna sings with stands out to my ear, even among the many virtuosos of Carnatic music. What lyrical composition too!. I'd love to read a translation .

Thank you, I was looking for the transliteration but couldn't find any. I was wondering if "Azhikka" be translated as "to erase" or "rub", and "oli visi" as "to shine", then poetically it brings in a nice effect that rubbing/wiping an object (metal) would make it only shine more instead of destroying it. :)

I just had a thought: would meengalin kaatchigal actually mean the stars? the previous line refers to the sky and i was wondering if this was vin-meengal.... and the reference to Muruga in your trnsalation is interesting , but I am just wondering if that is the case, or can it be any hero/lover and not necessarily Muruga?
