- Ranjani and Gayatri present a sprightly rendition of the lilting Sarasa sama dana in the unusual raga Kapinarayani. This iconic composition of Sadguru Tyagaraja Swamy with the beautiful line "Hitavu maatalento" leads to a lovely neraval exposition, which has been handled beautifully in the past by many legendary musicians. Ranjani Gayatri are joined by L Ramakrishnan on the violin, Manoj Siva on the Mridangam, Chandrasekara Sharma on the Ghatam and Harini Tipu on Tambura.

I grew up in Mylapore in the 50's and had the absolute pleasure of listening to Sri Mani singing in Kapali Kovil, Theppam and other venues. He made this his trade mark song. Many have sung this song afterwards. But his version is and will always be my favorite. I am listening to this rendition and for the first time in 65 years feel that this is as good as it gets. What a gem ! Just about the best rendition. God bless you. You are not just singing but are upholding a culture, a way of life maintaining a link that has been handed over centuries and uplifting.

Yes;. "GA" Never takes Nor let go anything lightly and does everything so intensely going upto 200% exerting fully and thus making everyone of us admire and rever her efforts. So, No Surprise when her Mentor-Sister "RA" too enjoying it thoroughly from the closest quarter even while she too is going too deep in a meditation mode while singing.

Ranjani mam you execute the neraval so nicely that I'm only smiling listening to it . The alapana is nailed by gayatri mam . Sprightly wonderful swarams and its conversational. Surreal , sumptuous, superb . You look gorgeous in the non contrasting sarees . I love you both endlessly . Thanks for lighting up my full weekend with your blissful voices . Ranjani mam is graceful like goddess lakshmi herself and yes she is . Whereas gayatri mam seems like mother sharada seated and enjoying herself .

Awesome. There is absolutely no doubt RaGa sisters are the benchmarks for classism and perfection. It's like the Dr MBK of the 1960-70s. Or MLV of a similar genre. What RaGa sisters are absolutely different from all contemporary singers is their pronunciation. Sa is Sa. Tyagaraja wrote Chesi so it's perfectly pronounced while most call Sa as Sha. That pseudo sanskritisation is a crime. Salute RaGa sisters
The best part of these concerts is the brilliant accompaniments. Violinist enhances the output-value of the convert. He is totally brilliant. Ghatam and Mridangam follow up for honours. And the humble bee-like contribution of Harini. She is blessed unlimited
