One of the best gifts to bring back from the Philippines is pearls! I checked out the Pearl Market in Manila, located at the Greenhills Shopping Center.
If you want a deal, this is the place to go for pearls! You'll find hundreds of stalls selling pearls of all shapes, sizes, and colors.
Ignore my wrong pronunciation of baroque pearls :-)

Im a salelady in greenhills mall in san juan all pearl there are all fwp there are all from china but they maranao always say its from palawan sad to say this but they are lying to costumer

Katie, thank you for sharing this And ignore those comments about the pearls being from China. Who cares? I traveled internationally for four years solid (as in: I didn't have a home in the U.S.!) and when I did occasionally buy souvenirs, I bought them based on a variety of factors, not always where the item actually came from. I bought them for …..(drumroll, please) the memory of the trip itself: what I was doing, the crew I was with, the memories I had along the journey. It sounds like you had an absolutely lovely trip - and great memories : ) Side note: In all my travels around the world, I've NEVER been to the Philippines...but I will be going in September. So excited!

If you bothered haggling you would've been able to purchase those pearls for a lot cheaper as most aren't genuine. They love to take advantage of those who don't know any better and you're just handing it to them.
