Do you think it could be a homeless person from your community that was hungry and saw the community garden? Is that not what it’s for? 😂
While it’s called a community garden, people pay to have a spot. Our community fortunately doesn’t have a homeless problem. I’d be ok with it going to someone in need but I don’t think that’s what happening here sadly.

I actually think it’s an adult.
People are assholes. Always assume that until they show you otherwise. Kids aren't the only ones causing crap to happen, there definitely are shitty adults too. And theft like this could easly have been done even by an older woman out of spite just to throw it away because her own plot wasn't going well. Pessimistic outlook, yes, but sadly it rings true all too often.

That’s exactly what I was going to say! A community garden is for the community. The community takes care of it, and the community also takes whatever they need from it. I never heard of a community garden with specific plots for specific people. I thought all community gardens were to share with the community.. Especially the people in the community that can’t afford fresh fruits and vegetables. I guarantee whoever took it wasn’t trying to be rude. They probably thought that the garden was there for the community to take what they need.
This one we pay for our own plot, and there are signs saying not to pick.

Totally makes sense, but sadly that’s not how our town runs it. We have to pay to use it, sign up, and get a specific spot. Our town does a great job collecting and giving food and veggies to those in need, which is great! They probably shouldn’t call it a community garden because it can be confusing.

For larger carrots, dont let them bolt. Prune any flowers you see so the plant sends all the energy to growing that root out!

No worries! I grow baby potatoes in 3gal and 5gal grow bags. 1 potato per gallon. Wait until your potatoes start to spud before planting. I like to wait until the eyes pop out at least half an inch before i plant. Water your soil BEFORE planting and plant shallow. You only want maybe half an inch to an inch of soil covering them. Dont water again until the first inch is dried out and then water regularly but lightly until you have a few true leaves. Mulch your babies and then just water normally. The key is then to ariate your soil every so often; i just loosen some of the soil around the stalks every three weeks or so. If you notice the soil line going down, just add a bit more to bring it back up where it was. Your soil looks old and used up. Start with fresh, healthy soil gor your next try. I usually get about 5-10 babies off each one ive planted. Good luck!

@@kathrynboudreau i would start with more soil in your bag. You can start with that much bit keep prong more soil the larger your plant frowns until your bag is full of soil.

Looks like amanita jacksonii. I love mushrooms. Maybe it's a raccon stealing. I had raccons eat my watermelons and pumpkins before.
I’ve been lucky and haven’t had any animals stopping by. One day I did notice my other watermelon (the one missing) was placed in a sitting upright position closer to the fence. I bet whoever did that took it.
So sad... stay patient, may you be rewarded with a more beautiful watermelon insyaAllah
