Jennifer absolutely killin' it. I can't imagine the pressure to stand up there with Jeff and be so loose. Jeff always seemed to inspire his supporting crews to reach higher levels, and loved when they did.
I saw Jeff on this tour at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC. It was my first time seeing Mr. Beck. I've seen him four times at this point. Jennifer Batten is really great on guitar too.
My favorite guitarist since I first figured out who he was when I was 14 back in 1977. Wired was my first Beck album. So sad when I learned of his passing last night (Jan 11, 2023).
Jenn is incredible here, but when she rips a killer lead, Jeff just points at her and grins. He's intimidated by nobody. This must've been fun for them.
Joe Beck. Those names are superlatives among guitar players. A musician's musician. Fantastic technique and unmatched skill. I'm sorry Jimi Hendrix, but Joe Beck is the reason why I play the Stratocaster. And what a rock star perona playing without plectrum. Probably the most underrated guitar player out there. OK John McLaughlin may be the best guitar player alive but Joe is a close second.
Jeff Beck is just so darn cool. He loves music and helping elevate people, taking them with him in song. It's always a pleasure watching him. I can't believe I got into him when I was 15. Too bad we couldn't have afforded any instruments because he was a major inspiration then, and now whenever I need to come back for a listen and a smile.
She was on top of that shit boy......you can understand why Jeff would want to play with her. A little friendly game of one-upmanship obviously brought the best out of both of them. Simply amazing!
