Nicely done. Digging the music, the thorough info, and the “hallooo”s to the passerbys. You make the snow look good!

Thanks, Kate! You have to say hi to keep the paths friendly. 👋😀

We’re really lucky here in Madison. Miles of paths to get to anywhere in the city. Even in winter the city plows the paths long before the streets. I have a bunch of Wolverine vids in the pipeline. I can’t wait to share them with everyone.

I bought a surly midnight special and I love it, I was looking at the soma fog cutter as well but ended up getting the surly and I’m not disappointed with it.

That Midnight Special is a sweet bike. It’s the perfect classic meets minders wrapped up in an all roads package.

It was a super fun build and even more fun to ride. Let me know if you do a build. I love to hear about others builds.

It’s been tons of fun so far. I can’t wait to get some videos out. Psst, if you look really close and you want to spoil it, you can see the new bike in the intro of this video. It’s dark, but if you know bikes, you can make it out.

Do you know how much it ended up weighing? I'm at 34 pounds and it seems so heavy...

      27.5lb. How'd you build yours?

@@GreatEgretAdventure thats with a 2 pound bag and a 2lb porteur rack so maybe I’m not too far off. I guess I’m just not used to Steel. I have been absolutely loving the bike! But i started fretting about weight tonight.

    Hello
I’m getting ready to build Soma Wolverine with some bmx type of handle bars and 700c x 47-50 mm tires
Do you think that would work ?
I m looking for a frame that will put me in comfortable position ,, I ride mostly road with occasional gravel ..
Any suggestion is appreciated .. thank you

Man, this frame is so versatile you can build it into anything you want. You’d have no trouble building that. What brand of handlebars are you considering? What headset? 50mm is the widest tire this frame can go, so that would work. What frame are you using to build? V3 or V4? Type A or B?

      Hello again ..
Yeah the frame is V 4.0 type B wolverine
And I was gonna use handlebars called whisky millhouse ...
      cane creek 40 headset
And 50 mm tires not sure which one yet
      Brooks saddle
And bunch of other mid grade components .. Gx eagle drive terrain etc
I’m 6 ft tall so I was gonna order size 56 frame
I was just debating if this is the right frame for all this ...?
I’m little hesitant because of the straight top tube .. I never rode a bike with a straight top tube ..
I just sold my karate monkey and I need all around every day bike that I can have fun with .
How tall are you and what other suggestions will you make ?
What stem do you recommend ?

This is one of the best fames for an all around bike. GX eagle is a great choice as is the Whiskey Millhouse. I think that 56 will work for you. It's best though to look at the stack and reach on the geometry chart at Somafab.com. the stack of the 56 is 605mm and the reach is 395mm. If you felt your Karate Monkey fit you well, head over to surleybikes.com and take a look at the geometry of your old bike or another bike that fit you well and pair it up as closely as possible to the size you're thinking for the Wolverine. Yeah, they have different geometries, but the stack and reach numbers will get you close and you can do some modifications after you build the bike so that it fits perfectly. since you are most concerned about the top tube, I'd try and get the reach as close to what you are used to. There are so many option s out there that really personalize a bike. So it's tough for me to suggest anything specifically without knowing more about you and what you want out of the bike. Best advice I can give on that is go with inexpensive components at first and upgrade later when you know exactly what you want. If you have any questions on any part or component, just let me know!
