+Tibor Bakti Personally I think the best musician of this age (that I know of) is Thomas Bergersen. You should check out some of his work. He composes music for Two Steps From Hell, as well as some of his own albums.
I think both are best, in their own way, at what they do. They play the same genre.. but their style is slightly different between the two.

I don't want to spoil anything for anybody who hasn't seen it but what I liked most was how refreshing it was with a racing movie (not that I want to reduce it to that category) that really tied things up in a really great way at the end. Usually it's just the champion standing with the trophy in his hand at the end, The End. But Rush is not about a trophy.
It is a great movie, with amazing actors and a spot on soundtrack. One of the best films I've seen in a long time. I liked that it isn't just the onedimensional depiction of a rivalry, rather than a rivalry that could have also been a great friendship. Both drivers went through a evolution. They hated each other, but they also respected each other for who they were. I also liked that this movie carried a message, the message to carry on, but not against all odds. You shouldn't lose sight of what is really important. Lauda understood that fact, while Hunt didn't. Even the real Lauda said that this movie was accurate. I have to tip my hat to him for his willpower to carry on.
Monki Eeyup I liked your comment about Hunt never learnt the sight of what is really important, it is quite a complex topic. In my opinion he knew the sight of right but he couldn't do anything about it, some people just go against all its fearful odds: "death" or "age" would never stop him ...like he said "everyday day like its last..." What a great movie indeed.

The movie is beyond words a great documentary of two f1 legends as for the music...all yours!!!
Hopefully we will get movies like that about Senna vs Prost, Hamilton vs Alonso, Hamilton vs Verstappen
This movie is what got me into F1, I was so captivated by the story and racing rivalry between Hunt and Lauda, it was incredible to me. Learning about F1, with my love and interest of cars and speed, its like I had introduced to everything all over again, learning about the tech in the cars, the teams, the drivers, how close one team came to winning the championship only to see it go to another team, seeing the drivers exhibit their skills in those tight corners, hitting the apex and bolting like hell out of it, it was so enthralling and watching F1: DTS on Netflix is what cemented my love for F1, I love this sport.
P.S. seeing Grosjean's crash on F1: DTS, I already had huge respect for F1 drivers but after seeing that, the fact they have the skill and training to go that fast then slow then fast again on a different track in a different part of the world (sometimes a week later), to push their cars, their bodies and to be in their mindframe, yea hats off to them, absolute respect to the drivers and teams and again, it cemented me as a fan of F1 forward.

I'm studying for my finals while listening this motivational masterpiece!
But I have certain thoughts that I would like to share. It is incredible the fact how my understanding of this soundtrack changed over the course of years. Back in 2014 when I first saw the Movie (intentionally capital M), I thought that name of soundtrack is about James Hunt losing the race but winning the championship. Today, I think I was a little bit wrong. It can be applied to both James and Niki. Niki lost the race, lost the championship, but he won in life. He was brave enough to give up, quit and fight with himself of giving up what he most enjoys doing. Winning races. And maybe also face the fact that he might looked like a coward. But he told his engineer the truth and that what matters. He chose to lose the race in order to win, he put his wife and future before himself.
James on the other hand, lost everything along the way in order to prove every single person who ever doubted him that he is a true Champion. He dedicated himself and risked own life in order to win. He was truly prepared to die for glory. And nothing could stop him. Not even his engineer who told him that they always have next season. But James wasn't doing that for McLaren. He wasn't even doing that for trophy. Nor Niki, his greatest rival. He was doing that for himself. He was fighting against himself which is the most difficult conquest ever. I must also add that he had what Lauda did not. Good looks, bunch of friends, admiration and approval of others around him. But I think he felt he was not complete inside. He had to win in order to kill that slightest 1% of doubt in himself that he carried all his life. In order to gain what Lauda had, inner fullfilment and Respect.
And that is why this is my favorite Movie. It always inspires me to be pleased with myself and things I have, but also to keep pushing everyday to find that new limit.

I know this is 4 years after the most recent reply but I'm gonna do it anyway. This song is the perfect driving song. I generally use it when racing on f1 2019 or other similar videogames but it is also great for when you are just driving about.

Hans Zimmer doesn't compose a 100% by himself. He has a company where he is basically the musical director. One of his students so to say is Ramin Djawadi who does GoT. I'm thinking about maybe he threw that idea in of sampling/referring to the Rains of Castamere in the first 4 notes. Only assumptions but similar happened with the Gladiator soundtrack flowing into Pirates of the Carribean
Nekro Atlas and you can hear his influence in Ramin Djawadi’s soundtracks, look at the dragon theme from GoT. Very similar to The Gladiator.

from 4:40, besides being the best part in this theme song, Nikki lauda shows us 'nothing is larger than life itself', not even the championship which he worked hard for even though he was pushed till the end by an equally spirited racer.

Caution this song adds grip to tires while playing formula games:
F1 2012 playing in my laptop, listening to this song and it starts raining. I am in the Red Ferrari with option tires on. I don't stop to change the tires to gain the first position(first 4 people stopped). I have to hold them back for the rest of the race(no assists, no TC, full throttle button only, full breaks when i hit S and hard difficulty also slippery as hell). I nail every turn and manage slips good and after some never ending laps I win by only 50ms with the second guy behind me all the time. All this on Hockenheimring(no Nurburgring on that game) 2 days after watching this movie, with my gf looking at the game and cheering up for me... Great times
Weird thing is with option tires on rain and on laptop keyboard(no sensitive breaks or steering) I would always spin out on practice laps. This song adds grip 100% guaranteed
