Attack on Titan has two major parts. Before basement and after basement.
I just want to give credit to the author. He set up this plot twist since the beginning. It's IMO one of the most surprising plot twists and it makes total sense. Eren's dad was an amazing doctor inside the walls because he came from a much more advanced society with much better medical knowledge.
This is a great way to differentiate the series. Ima start using BB and AB when discussing attack on titan now lmao. Thank you for this
Supanjibobu I wouldn’t say it’s boring but it’s definitely a major chance of pace from how it started. I enjoyed pre basement a lot more than after but it’s still very good to me. I just hope the ending of the series is worthwhile.

Lost in translation, but Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack Titan translated into Attack on Titan) is an actual thing. Hence title drop.

It's like.. when u reveal that Russia has a nuclear weapon on Cuba. U tell it directly to USA government. Of course USA will panic and also try to threatening Russia. Of course the citizens too.
But it will different if u reveal it on the CIA or some shadow organization thing. The government n society still calm. And these organization can check that info is true or hoax. And maybe can solve that problem without causing other big problems.
The thing is, Ymir can't trust Eren yet. If that secret info goes to Eren, then the possibilities are 3. It will be a good thing, bad thing, or.. Eren don't care about it. At that time of course these ppl only know that titans are bad, and human inside the walls are good. Soo the biggest possibility is.. Eren don't care about it. Or... the kingdom of the walls will try to attack the outside kingdom
When they(people of the walls) knew about the truth and want to attack the other country outside theese walls, Reiner, Bert, and Ymir's life is in danger. Because at that time the beast titan still roaming the land. Soo maybe sometimes they can meet with him and got killed by him.
Ahh I'm not great at explaining things to ppl. But the point is, every decision has consequences. At that time Ymir can't trust Eren yet. And Reiner trust Eren can move to their side and want to tell the truth when Eren joined their side. That's why Reiner casually talk about their(reiner's n Bert's) identity. While Bert is neutral. He just following orders from Reiner

@Xen Glaris Ye. In the anime it'll likely be even more noticeable. Because in the manga, the panels are usually narrow and you move on quickly so sometimes you don't catch small details like that. But in the anime when you have wide shots where it shows everyone side by side walking or standing next to each other you start to notice stuff like that.

RT TV I think it’s more obvious this time cuz they followed the manga panels more closely. In some scenes in S3 P1 they made Levi as tall as Mikasa when he isn’t.

The art style this episode seemed very reminiscent of season 1. I wonder if WIT Studio did that on purpose as a way to make it loop back to the beginning of the show even more. I thought that was a really nice touch.
Also, if that end credit scene is implying what I think it is, then the show is going to go in a whole new direction. I'm excited for what's to come.

@@mynameis______392 I think the story is going to zoom out and take on a much grander scale. They've been building it up with the world-building for a couple seasons now. There's a larger conflict, and I'm curious to see what it is. At some point, the different societies in the show have to clash, in some way or another. I can't quite decide if I think this is some sort of alt-world WW2 Germany-esque place, or if it's supposed to be a dystopian version of our world though. At the very least the arm-band thing definitely shows there's some sort of prejudice in the society where Grisha comes from. Curious to see how the show explores that.

The ending song is about the togetherness. Soo it can fit with anything that involve more than 2 people. Like.. the death of Erwin, Faye n Grisha, the scramble of 104th trainee corps.

I mean if your aware in a general sense about World War 2 and the Holocaust or seen Nazi/Jewish movies about the Holocaust, you can easily come up with some solid theories about about where the story is going considering some hints dropped before with some kind of racism/discrimination from Reiner and Bertholdt. But it's great that they caught it nonetheless since it leads them in the right direction rather than coming up with some outlandish theories or just being confused in general.

Armin feeling that enormous burden of the serumbowl decision was naturally going to hit him hard...Not to mention that weird/scary(ish) dream-like state he was in before he woke up. Makes you wonder how Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie felt or went through after inheriting their titans? They were kids at the time afterall, so you can probably imagine what it must've been like... Being injected, changing, eating someone that they probably knew, and then possibly having nightmares of said person in their dreams immediately afterwards. Eren had a similar experience as well, though his was pretty fuzzy. Overall, geez man...
The entire walk to Eren's house was so atmospheric! Especially seeing those flashes of a time now long gone. Was a bit surprised at a good amount of anime-original scenes during it though, but honestly I'm not complaining. It helped to add some serious weight to the return to their home and arrival at the basement. This was a long time coming and the buildup to it was on point! We also essentially got to catch our breath and just look around as well as see how some of the characters are doing emotionally.
Man, when the key didn't fit with the door, I remember feeling so exasperated and just done. Then Levi kicked in the door and I was all like "...Oh, okay. That works too..."
The cheering from the people was so beautiful and yet, so sad at the same time. Knowing the huge cost to this operation and getting to the basement... Only seeing the backs of the remaining SC members and the journals Eren was holding hit that fact straight home.
Grisha's past is here! The new OST and seeing this new aesthetic in the AoT artstyle was just amazing. Overall, the vibe of the show felt so different and that's good, because this episode was essentially a transition point.

My theory is that Eren's father lived in a country which was later invaded by another stronger country, and since the invaders were technologically advanced , they developed a biological weapon that could turn humans into titans and somehow works only on a special race , and the first successful human transformation was applied on a little girl called "Crista" _It was mentionned by Freida _ her DNA matched so well that she earned a power of a majestic titan, her people then were infected and were able to transform but into mindless titans but only after being triggered.
