I loved this presentation, lot of people nit picking about bricks and NPCs, etc. but honestly? what about all the other wonders, I feel like the place is alive! students everywhere, doing different things or being harrased by Peeves or so many interactions like eating an apple or having tea. I want to see so much more, I really want to visit the library and was not that statue of the guy with stars similar to the hogsmade quest table star?? i also want tio see the kitchen and trophy room and my favourite? Potion classroom😍😍😍 my absolute favoirite. Also, love the fact that dormitories are realistic and there are enough rooms for the hundreds of students during the academic year.
The castle is a straight 10/10 they really did make an amazing job !!! I was just a little disappointed with the animations/ facial expressions in a conversation with quest givers… I hope they bring a little more „life“ into these things. But I stillt think, it’ll be a great game 😁
The sound effect of revelio spell you mentioned that reminded you of the old chamber of secrets pc game - it was exactly my thought when I saw the gameplay video. I was like " wow I know this sound" So nostalgic :)

Such a good video Ben! Loved how you knew your architectural terms so well. Also, seeing that short clip of Order of the Phoenix game really brings into perspective how amazing Hogwarts Legacy looks, was Hogwarts in Order of the Phoenix terrible or is it incredible in Hogwarts Legacy? Both probably 😂 But really, the devs of HL have done an amazing job, I can't get over it, everything is so beautiful. The house points Hourglasses are one of the things I was most stunned by, the level of detail, the fidelity to lore, you can even tell the materials and gems they used for the designs, and they are all on point, Gold and Ruby for Gryffindor, Copper and Citrine for Hufflepuff, Bronze and Sapphire for Ravenclaw, Silver and Emerald for Slytherin. Everything is just breathtaking.
I though first too, but then the symbols contain some of the more rare magical creatures.. thinking might something to do with finding those specific ones, which then will maybe unlock certain abilities or spells or potions 🤔 I’m still brainstorming/theorizing on this one

You had a giant smile on your face when the new gameplay footage was revealed, right Ben? Really looking forward to playing this game next year. Oh, I noticed the logo for Hogwarts Legacy appear at the bottom of the screen; perhaps that's the auto-save function. Off topic, I took the Pottermore quiz with my cousin (she's a Hufflepuff) and I am sorted into Slytherin (must be cause I use cunning for sticky scenarios), my Patronus is a swallow and my wand is made of pear wood with a unicorn core and it's length is 10 inches that has a slightly springy flexibility to it. Gonna be honest, I always thought I'd be a Hufflepuff, but I'm happy with my results.
same! some people complained that NPCs were still not aggressive enough, but they forgot that the character was level 2 lol... besides, once you are doing it and dealing with all the buttons won't feel as easy as when watching it, what it does feel is very fluid and cinematic and I loooove that😄
@@alexandervanderose5400 how come ? It's feel like you just need to press R2. The combat system is not new or unique. Magic circles that alerte you from a hit.. (batman/AC/Sifu etc..)
Actually defence against the dark art class and all the hallway: the staircase, the decoration of skulls, skeleton, the dim light in this area are really creepy and scary, and horrifying , they just create the feeling of dark deadly magic in the way everything seems to be a bit old and dirty, and dark and shadow, and lack of light like this place is hell. This is one of the worst place to visit in Howgarts, not grandiose or posh or bougiest hallway
Every time I see the owlery, I can't help but think about how inconvenient it would be to trek all the way there to send a letter. XD The castle is AMAZING, though. The DADA halls put me in mind of a natural history museum. It was probably the skeletons. lol The architecture throughout is so good! SO hype! On the symbol door: I wonder if they're taking some inspiration from the lego games here? Hermione had an ability to interact with special doors that had four symbols on them to complete puzzles. The symbols I recognized were all magical creatures, including a hydra of all things in the top. If its not a puzzle door or something, maybe it could just be a door to the DADA tower? Or a magical creatures section of the library...? No idea. They could have the Care of Magical Creatures class indoors for all we know and that's the room.
People forgetting it's open world game and think every NPC dialogue will be "alive". Even in Witcher some dialogue looks stiff. I just hope for good optimisation for console and pc.
Considering that the entire population of the school fits in the Great Hall, this castle seems massively oversized, it's basically a full on city. I get the suspicion that someone was playtesting it and said "this feels too small, scale everything up by 20%". I appreciate that they changed some details to be closer to the books, I wish they'd done the same with the owlery by putting it the West Tower, doesn't make much sense to have to leave the castle every time you need to send a letter.
Really? I actually really like the bigger size of the overall castle 🤔 and I totally didn’t remember that about the Owlery, in my mind it’s always there across the Wooden bridge 😅

I think building a beautiful structure is not a very difficult business today where we have such power technology and tools that allow us to make things easier and faster but developing a beautifully immersive world is a big deal as it requires hard-work and lots of money. If Hogwarts Legacy is just a beautiful structure, I think the team didn’t do enough but if it’s engaging and immersive beautiful game that’s really explorable and enjoyable, then I’d say the team did well enough to deliver what they promised.

It looks great but I'm not a huge of the grand staircase and viaduct. Order of the Phoenix (game) was the peak of Hogwarts layout.
I am keen to see the kitchens from a wider angle, the divination classroom, the astronomy tower, and the trophy room.
I would like to see how the moaning Myrtle's bathroom looks like.
It would look like HP only without Moaning Mytre since she hasn't been born yet
