Gosh, Rory....Amira's voice is so natural... her singing looks effortless. It will be interesting to see what direction she will decide to take her incredible voice in the future. Thanks for introducing me to her, Rory.
IT IS SO GOOD TO SEE AMIRA PAY TRIBUTE TO GOD WITH THE ANGELIC VOICE and TALENT THAT SHE RECEIVED FROM GOD and STILL BE MODEST - HUP AMIRA - DIE TRANE DIE ROL OOR JOU BOKKA - THE 1st SONG WAS IN AFRIKAANS !! THANKS RORY - BOER BEN
BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank You Rory and thank you Thomas, she is amazing!! 😊💓🤘✌️She could definitely drop the mic, what a powerful beautiful voice!! Love the Eddie Vedder mention Rory!! And like always awesome reaction!!
It's true, Amira transports us with her amazing voice to a heavenly, magical, mystical place... it doesn't matter if you are religious or not, she somehow "touches" our emotions and transmits peace. I also agree, Dutch is a very "strong" language when listening to it similar to German, but whatever language she sings sounds good. Amira is a state of mind !! 😊 Thanks Rory! Kisses 😘
Amira always fantastic magnificent fabulous definitely the best of the best the most wonderful and perfect voice in the world Amira our eternal and agelic Diva❤❤❤
Loved your comment about songs not sounding like this at school! I'm not religious but have probably listened to Amira sing more religious songs than I had listened to in my whole life before! It's the way she sings them🥰
I honestly don’t know what I love more the fact that she is honoring the good Lord, by this selections that she’s doing or the fact that, like you said, she adores opera she has a passion for it, and that’s what she’s choosing to sing both of these things just make me so happy.
Great reaction Rory. Would you believe Amira has sung in, I believe, 9 languages. She not only learns the words, but studies their meaning so as to give the proper feel to the lyrics & to give justice to the song. She also speaks three languages fluently, namely, Dutch; English & Africana & has done so from a very early age. You can see how much joy Amira has when singing , & especially with songs connecting her with her faith. I also love her smile & it’s contagious, cause I smile back each &/every time. Cheers Graeme
She’s amazing I can’t understand anything she’s saying, but so far I’ve known the tune well enough that I do know the English translations, but that really doesn’t matter because her voice is just angelic, and like somebody else said the fact that she is still modest conservative, God loving I just I love it and I’m sorry if I’m coming to commenting too much.
Rory, you should have a listen to Amira's Flower Duet - I guarantee you will love it. Enjoyed all of your reactions especially on Amira & Queen. Good luck with the site.
It's Dutch... She was home from South Africa to the Netherlands recently for several performances and was invited to sing at this service.. herself and her mother also went to Norway on this trip where she performed in several places there too.
Like I said, she was amazing as a child and as a teenager excuse me a young teen but now oh my God she’s just on a whole Nother level and she’s just gonna keep getting better and better and she’s not even 19 yet I don’t think. I think she’s 18 in this performance and I think she’s doing 19 this year but I could be wrong. Please don’t quote me on that.
I think Jerusalem was sung in Afrikaans. If so, she sang in three languages, including Dutch and English. The Lord's Prayer is not just words to Amira, but an expression of her own faith, likewise How Great Thou Art.

The William Blake poem is set to a different tune (usually sung at the last night of the proms). I think this tune is actually known as the Holy City.

Amira the best 🙏❤️
I was there... and talking to her after the performence😍
THE LAST SONG's LATTER PART WAS IN DUTCH !!

Her brother, Fincent, gives her the pronunciation for the languages she doesn’t speak.

IT IS ALMOST AS IF AMIRA IS EMBARRASSED WITH ALL HER TALENT and IT MAKES HER SHY !!!!!!!!!!!
Just singing in church; not a studio.

Her age … just graduated from high school as valedictorian. 😊
I must have sound issues ì did not like her voice sorry.
