Aquarium Stand Build

This was a garage sale find aquarium that needed to be resealed, and scrubbed clean. This is the video of me building the stand, placing the aquarium on Styrofoam cushion under the tank and filling the tank with water to check it for leaks. Foam under a tank is not good. It is meant for rimless tanks. I use strips of cork and put it under the perimeter of tank.

Question: is the top OSB necessary? If you plane the top frame of the stand and insure it's level, the bottom plastic frame of the tank only rests on it's frame and not the entirety of the top.

The OSB is not necessary. I do it for the look and it makes me feel like it ties the rest if the frame together for added strength (which these 2x4 frames probably don't need).

Grew up in Ontario! I’ve never seen the artwork etched into the front glass of the 90 gallon aquarium! Beautiful
