    This is another Boxwood bonsai that I created from a nursery plant. Part 2 for the final pruning, root pruning and potting. The roots of this plant (actually 2 plants) look like 2 legs, so I name this bonsai : The Walking Bonsai. Thanks, don't forget to subscribe to my Channel for future video clips.

    Great thing about this kind of art form, it's the artist's perception that is the most important thing. "Radial root formation" may be formal, but abstract growth is natural...I am a total beginner, but any development in art form, is a work in progress..
    Thank you again for sharing...I am step one on my journey....I have so many "mistakes" in prgrogress, I rely on your videos to learn just a bit more as I go..

    Holy cow I think this is why I did a boxwood. It's from watching your video. God bless you and your family.

    I want you to know that i'm happy with the way my 2 boxwood plants turned out and I have you to thank. You teach us to slow down, think before you cut and don't be afraid to experiment. Just wanted to say thank you from Orlando Florida. I watch your videos over and over. Great job.

    I also love the roots on this boxwood. I think most of the boxwood varieties produce excellent nebari, from what I have see anyway. Very nice specimen.

    Maybe you already know this but if you use a filter to remove the chlorine from the water or use reverse osmosis water your plants will love you for it and the leaves will turn a healthy shade of green. Give it a try works for me.
    I used to boil the chlorine out but breathing in the steam can be very toxic and extremely poisonous to if you take that route boil it outside.
    Another trick is to brew some tea, regular black tea then let it cool or even put it in the fridge then water the plants with it every so often, you will see new plant growth with a day or 2 :]
    Cheers

    So I bought a boxwood today from a nursery it’s bigger it cost $45 and it’s about 1 1/2 to 2 feet tall and the trunk thickness is about as half the diameter as you can make a circle with your index finger and thumb. So my question is I see that they can go through some massive reduction, do you think it’s OK for me to put this into a bonsai container that is 9 inches left to right and 6 inches front to back?

    I heard they could survive indoors. Also what is the best month season for route reduction branch removal and transplanting? It’s fall season here in New York the month of October and I’ve already remove branches zone 7

    Will the tree survive with such a drastic prunning of roots??

    i love your tools! where did you find/purchase them?
    Also, the lowest righthand brand is bugging me!!! To me, it looks like it could be removed completely. How is this tree doing now??
    Thanks a lot, Eric.

    Just wondering, can you grow a bonsai like this in Canada? Can you leave it in the pot outside during the winter? or will that kill it?

  • @CaraSophia
    @CaraSophia 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay I had a question, I am growing my own bonsai, same as that one, so its completely okay to cut its roots and prune it and everything all in one day? or do i wait in between pruning and repotting? and is the mesh just placed inside with wires attached? its not resting on anything?

    why need that wire which are going from the bottom?

    • @perfectperson214
      @perfectperson214 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      cree its necessary to hold the plant or tree in place while the roots take hold of the soil, which can take a while. It keeps the tree sturdy and safe in harsher weather as well.
