Mr. bonsaistudent: I know this is 3 yrs. from video, however found extremely informative and detailed. I just purchased one gallon Azalea "Karen". It was $17.00 end season sale (upper Michigan). Though young on smaller side, good character, good girth with slight bend to one side of trunk base to two inches up. Would you wire or repot to achieve trunk to stand straight? Bend actually looks like "slight" wind effect. Thank you for taking time to share your knowledge.
Suzannah Villalobos yes he passed away, but I would consider tilting the plant when potting to give a more upright look. If it's young the wire could inhibit or scar it pretty easily.
Hey great video! Just bought an azalea myself, very similar size to yours, maybe even a bit bigger, quick question. Does pruning a branch back to where theres no leafs, kill the branch? If so, how do you go about "shrinking back" the azalea to a proper height, all the foliage seems to be on the "outside" of the plant. :(
Wow, Beautiful Upload friend. keep it up. Thank you for sharing this to us. Greetings from Korea
