May 23, 2019, Kahuku Graduation Senior Medley ended in a traditional Haka. This Haka was written specifically for Kahuku High School. Please subscribe and enjoy. more to come.
Could you see this happening in the USA. the school would have them arrested and thrown in a mental institution. But, don’t get me wrong, I think this ancient tradition is great then and even more now. These young people have a great bond in the HAKA between them and for them to the audience. It shows great pride and unity! Great going!!!!
So I'm not Polynesian in any way. But from the comments I see maybe some Nzrs maybe didn't like it? Why? I'm curious. From what I gather all over the pacific they have their own chants. I love and respect it I think its beautiful. But why was this "wrong" I genuinely just don't understand. I sincerely mean no disrespect in any way shape or form.
Im from New Zealand. Done kapa haka most of my years in school through college. Absolutely nothing wrong with this haka. When we are taught in kapa haka, the leader (kaea) are usually very strict, they would smack our legs and backs with sticks (rakau's) to keep them in the right positions. They were very loud and stern. No back talk or nothing. This would also give you the anger you needed to fuel yourself for it😂😂. what im trying to say is a lot of us are disciplined in it for years, so if we see the slightest thing wrong with one, we notice. I dont agree with any comments on here about this haka though. Loved it. Boys had mana and went hard, the school was feeling the mana, thats all you need really.
Something feels a little off in this like I can feel the wairua of the people in it and it’s not what I’m use to, specially not in haka, I couldn’t really feel wana either
This deserves more recognition

USA is full of snowflakes. We don’t breed pussies on this island. We don’t have Karen’s complaining over the slightest things.
It’s in Hawaii… Part of the USA dumb ass lmao

Are you dumb 😂 Hawaii is the US
Too fast boys - slow the tempo.

I don't care what your background or culture is. If this don't move you, you have no soul

Rather leave it to the New Zealanders to do it because they do it from the heart and not for show off
Wtf
It's also their culture, so they have every right to do it

@@TheReal_Geelol it is not their culture. But this specific haka was given to kahuku by the Māoris.

Thats really embarrassing to be honest 🤦🏽♀️ who taught them that? Should stick to their own , chanting not Haka
It was made specifically for them
By a Maori professor
Learn before u talk.
@@fmatroopah9674 are they not proud of their own culture? instead of butchering Maori culture
@@jonjones2639 what just cause they're doing a haka a Māori specifically made for them?
