    The "Match Zbrush Model Scale (x0.01) is essential if you ever want work with symmetry and prevent it from being lost - it's the same thing as "Unify" under deformations and because it basically shrinks it down to unit size, you should have enough brush scale that you wouldn't have to frig with it in preferences. When sending back to CC4, you will have to choose the scale (x100) to match it back again in CC4. Also bones will not change unless you choose to fit it (can be auto aligned in CC4 later) A big tip to anyone new, create a morph target, subdivide to the levels you want before using masks, if you use a mask then subdivide it will break the vert count and you can't send it back to CC4 to update the character. The morph target is to switch to your original character shape after subdividing if you need it. One new thing that i learned here that I thought was very cool, is that morph modification in character in CC4 can be sent back to your Zbrush model with subdivisions and I've been using CC4 between Zbrush for years.. thanks Michael!

    It's funny looking at this now using the CC4 workflow, remembering your old Eat3D Zbrush 3.5 production character series where you created the character from scratch and another fella rigged/skinned it in 3dsMax. The amount of time/work saved here with the full rigging, including facial rig, is crazy. :D

    Hey Michael, I'm always so grateful for all the things I'm learning through your teachings, thank you so much. Question: is there a specific reason why you are not ticking the "Match ZBrush Model Scale (x 0.01) option before clicking the GoZ button? Wouldn't that sort the "issue" with the brush size straightforward?

    • @MichaelPavlovich
      @MichaelPavlovich  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That, or you can use the ZPlugin > Scale Master ZBrush Unifiy, which will update your export scale. I tend to just keep things vanilla after some incompatibility with layers (don't want to hit that button with FaceTools I don't think?) but feel free!

      @@MichaelPavlovich i see, thanks for the tip. Also, sorry to bother you with another nooby question: I don't understand which step I am missing, but I'm trying to experiment a little bit with the CC4/Goz back and forth and for example i wanted to create a scar on the lip of my character so i did it in Sub lvl 6, but when i sent it back to CC4 i couldn't see the scar on my character. So i went back to Zbrush and just to try it out i pulled out the head making a super long neck and sent it back to CC4 and this time i could see my char turning into a giraffe. So what am i missing? Why am I only able to see big changes but none of the small details made in Subdiv 6? Infact, i can see around 39:00, when you go back to CC4 and update the goblin, he doesn't seem to have all the great details you had in Zbrush, but after that you move to Substance Painter so I feel I've got this gap of knowledge to give myself an explanation XD (it's probably something silly but I can't figure it out). Thanks for any reply and sorry for the super long post O.o

    • @MichaelPavlovich
      @MichaelPavlovich  ปีที่แล้ว

      Out of CC it will always be your low poly (it's difficult to move around 20 million polygons, but it's easy to move around 50k polygons that control the sdiv 1 of those 20 million polys). If you GoZ or PoseTools out of CC back to ZBrush, then that will move the verts into the new posed position, go to Subtool > All High, then Tool > Export to export all your high res geo as an .fbx

      Oh nvm. I found the answer. I noticed that you also have it greyed out some times which got me thinking maybe its just the kind of mesh selected. I'm guessing if the model has uv's or something then it allows you to send to substance painter (or maybe material assignments?).
