You forgot to put snow around the edges outside. Plus you could have put up some boards on the lower part of your truck to block more of the outside air. Keep more warmth inside. But a nice set up.

You need a skirt to go around the exposed sides of the truck. To seal off the underside draft and to help retain heat. You can use two small tarps to seal up the ends. It works Great !
Or atleast use snow,I can imagine the freezing wind coming from there. It's to bad cuz the tent itself is awesome. Great video brother, God Bless

I was thinking that as soon as they showed inside the tent...way too many openings under the truck and on the sides.
nice setup you have there....now you just need to make a tarpaulin that fits along the bottom of your truck
Gotta cover the gap under the car and the sides to keep the heat in. Would help in colder weather

I live in Alberta Canada I love winter, next winter once my daughter is older we will be sleeping outside in our make shift igloo:). Watching your video with my kids just get them more and more ready to do this with me.

Solid setup, a tarp to block the wind from underneath the vehicle would be a welcomed modification.

So, you're not an ultralite camper! I did spend a couple months at Misawa, before the air wing moved in. Really enjoyed it, got to some of the parks along the coast. Remember it being pretty cold when we got there (also just missed a very strong earthquake 7-8 (?)) and getting warm and humid by the time we left. Good memories.
This bed looks comfortable. And I love the cat at the end.

I thought it was awesome to! A tent in a tent is a smart move with the draft not closed off (not knocking him, he had his reasons) That also looked good enough for a single or maybe a double night out in spring, summer & fall, weather depending of course. I'll be looking up that setup for sure.

Aomori Prefecture, I remember it well. I was stationed at Misawa and went up to Aomori itself to shop. Beautiful in summer, heavy wet snow coming at you horizontally with a driving wind in winter. Still beautiful, but not for the faint of heart! ❤

I've been past Aomori when I rode the Shinkansen. It's very far north. It must be cold there in December. Osaka is March in an apartment was bad enough. Beautiful scenery there though.
