I guess it makes sense, but it still astonishes me that there are people who haven't ever heard about the excellent Italian made western movies of the 1960's - 70's.
Old doesn't mean bad. These movies are timeless and just as watchable today as they were when they debuted in theaters.

This is music from the 1966 western "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." It's the movie's theme plus one other piece of music from the movie called "The Ecstasy of Gold." That movie was the third and final installment of a trilogy of movies that catapulted Clint Eastwood to stardom. The first two movies were called, in order, "A Fistful of Dollars" and "For a Few Dollars more." In my opinion, the 1st movie is good, the second is great, and the 3rd ("The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly") is one of the greatest movies ever made. The guy hanging is a reference to the fact that in the movie, there are several scenes where people have nooses around their necks, although only one of them actually dies.
These three movies were made by the Italian director Sergio Leone who was a big fan of American westerns. They were shot in Spain. The fantastic music, and all three have great music, was by the brilliant Italian movie music composer Ennio Moricone.
I don't know if those movies started the term, but western movies made by Italians are often called "spaghetti westerns."

@@cheeseburger12 Many people feel like that. My feelings are as I said. I really like the 2nd movie, but I think the 3rd one, "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly," is one of the best movies ever made.

The reason why this song sounds like men going into battle during a war is because the movie this song came from has that movie in the middle of the civil war in the US where 3 gunfighters are battling each other for 200,000 in gold coins. And that movie has the same title as this song, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. One of the greatest western movies ever made and a delight to watch.

This isn't from any Queen songs. It's the opening theme from the movie The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. To understand the hanging man you must watch the movie.

Ennio Morricone was a classical Italian composer, and to my knowledge he actually never saw the films, but only made the fantastic music. Shortly before he died, he gave a concert in Copenhagen. So some of the musicians here may have been present?

This is a song from a western that had hangings in it, so the hanging man is a prop. In the window is Clint Eastwood.

I think you were thinking of the wrong song. Did you say Queen? This is from a movie score from the movie, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Watch the movie, will answer your questions. The last part of the music was from the end of the movie.

      Sergio Leone's "Dollars" Trilogy was:
      1) A Fist Full of Dollars (1964)
      2) For a Few Dollars More (1965)
      3) The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (1966)
Hang 'Em High is part of Clint Eastwood's "Angel of Death" Trilogy:
      1) Hang 'Em High (1968)
      2) High Plains Drifter (1970)
      3) Pale Rider (1985)
