Life in a glass house trivia - the jazz band are proper old school dixieland boys from the UK. At the time of recording Humphrey Littleton the trumpeter was in his 90s I think. I was a fan of his since childhood, not for trumpet, but because he presented a comedy panel show on BBC radio 4 for about 30 years. He's a proper legend. There is a live performance with them you can find.
when you’re done with radiohead (or if you just want to break up the flow with something else), i’d definitely recommend checking out “homogenic” by bjork and “laughing stock” by talk talk. both albums were a big influence on radiohead around this time, and they’re both fantastic in their own right great reaction! i usually listen to these on my phone when i’m at work
bro jus wanna say i really enjoy your reactions. Radiohead is the most cathartic and therapeutic music around, glad to see your descriptive reactions to them. Hail to the Thief next!!!
And full version minus OkC songs. This set is pretty much all Kid A and Amnesiac from Jools Holland talk show. th-cam.com/video/GdBcVm_1nlY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0oOzTmE398ahR5Wd
Fun fact about ‘Like Spinning Plates’ - The actual track is a song from a future album of theirs called ‘I Will’ played backwards. Also, Thom learned how to sing the song backwards and then reversed it, which is why it sounds so odd. Amazing. The live version is also super cool.
Another fantastic reaction. Definitely a Radiohead fan now, m8! You've got it bad like the rest of us!! You're gonna f@#$ing love A Moon Shaped Pool - can't wait!
8:05 thom yorke himself sayed on a interview: "You know you're in trouble when people stop listening to sad music, because the moment that people stop listening to sad music, they don't want to know any more, they're turning themselves off",as you can see for example on fitter happier, that when sommoene is happy, even though it can be satisfying and good for the person, they became unware of how the society controls and mantains him on a prison "like a cat tied to a stick" as you can see on OK computer where basically all tracks are about paranoia and sadness in a capitalistic society, and as you can also see on kid A
Check out the smile for recent stuff. The smile is thom and Jonny with tom skinner on drums. It's very much still Radiohead but in a more prolific way. They've put out 3 albums in the last 4 years. Definitely run through those as a reaction.
though keep in mind, the smile kinda stinks lol with the exception of a few songs in their discog, but it's more than 69% CRINGE lol hahaha. i know some folks like it, but it does not hit for me at all lol. amsp is gonna fire tho.
The bear hunting in the intro killed me 😭😭 even though I'm not a bear. It's so good to see you react to this album as it's very overlooked and under appreciated by the masses. I personally can't wait for you to finish their official discography and get into THEM LIVE! They're so good live and they're so precise, so it's fun to see them kinda mess up whenever they do anyways here's to you ❤ an amnesiac heart.
@@ilovejunetwo as I was editing I remembered a clip that I couldn’t stop laughing about haha! I’m glad that gave you a laugh! And honestly, it’s pretty bitter sweet because I know it will end.. but on this ride I’m enjoying the hell out of it! Thanks again for the love and support 💚
@frstlstn What doesn't end becomes hell, the enjoyment comes from knowing that it's ending :) [Trying to sound Philosophical here] Radiohead is ever improving though, you just keep hearing new things every single time that's why it's fun. Thanks for all the laughs and the ones to come 🐖
Love all of your Radiohead reactions. Feels like listening to them for the first time. 🥰 Please do not skip their album King Of Limbs. Some folks criticize it beyond reason. But it’s a solid album. And their last album they have released is Moon Shaped Pool. So LOVELY. ✨
My favourite Radiohead album. Doesn't get nearly enough recognition. Sounds like nothing else by them or anyone else. Better than Kid A and OK Computer combined. I like their albums from this point on because they lose their millenial doom thing (which grated on me) but still create this unique haunted and incredibly, musically tight and original sound. It's very strange and lean. Should be celebrated alongside Bowie, Eno, Talking Heads' late 70s classics.
Thom Yorke has said that the reason there are 2 Morning Bells is that it's like a recurring nightmare. Also, for some context, Like Spinning Plates is another song that comes out later played backwards. On Hail to the Thief there is a song called "I Will" that they attempted in this session with a more electronic version and it didn't work, so they took the track and played it backwards. Then Thom had to learn to sing the lyrics backwards. So to do that, he sang the lyrics normally, then played them backwards on the "I Will" track, then sand them backwards, so they could flip them. CRAZY! You'll hear a very different version of "I Will" when you cover HTTT.
A lot of people think that Radiohead are done, but they will release new music when they want. They are on their own timeline and will get there when they get there. They've been doing other projects as well.
I;ve been obsessed with this album since it came out. I've been obsessed with Radiohead since I saw them on Conan in '92.. But , I think you're doing a good job reacting to this shit. It;s good shit. I read an interview with Kanye one time , he said sometimes he just thinks about what Thom Yorke is doing sometimes, Like what he does during the day. Kanye just thinks about Thom sometimes. I've always thought about that...
Tis is my favorite Radiohead cd of all time-I wanted to hate it like most other fans, but I fell in love with every track. If you have the time listen to Like Spinning Plates Why Us version from the KidA'mnesiac 20th anniversay 2-disc release. It is my favorite track of all time. The video for You and who's Army is a nightmare come to life. Also check out KidA'mnesiac art exhibition interactive video-it is visually and musically stunning! Enjoy, and thanks for your amazing reaction!
I don’t think Radiohead is done. They all got together earlier this year and rehearsed. No word yet on when new music will come, but I’m confident it will happen at some point. Their latest album was A Moon Shaped Pool, which was released in 2016.
Not retired! Presumably on break. But you also got 3 albums from The Smile (trio of Thom and Jonny of Radiohead+Jazz Drummer, might as well be RH 2.0) released these few years.
Look up their performance of Life In a Glasshouse on Jools Holland. One of the coolest I’ve ever seen. th-cam.com/video/mLPE164XG6E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VHvC3jp0Blo6dmA7
i think you would really enjoy the game Kid A mnesia Exhibition. Its a game where you walk around listening to radiohead songs and enjoying all the beautiful artwork they created among other surprises. Its a very unique and interesting experience.
The kid a and amnesiac be released again few years ago in a album called kid a amnesia. But for promotion surely radiohead have release a kind of video game. The name is Kid a Mnesia exibition. That a free game on pc at epicgame and on Ps5. That some art make by the art creator make many creation for radiohead. a personnal friend at school of thom york. You can hear some song are complete in the game and some are not that a kind of cool experience. You have nothing to do in the videogame just need to explore and relax. An upside-down digital/analogue universe created from original artwork and recordings to commemorate the coming of age of Radiohead’s Kid A and Amnesiac. The free game have very positive review
