that was a great idea, However I notice that this is the side that goes into the frame. That being said, how did you get the socket over the head of the swing arm bolt?? did you cut it off and then Tap it and thats why you needed the other bolt to thread in?? My problem is I have a punch lodged in my swing arm, and cannot get it out.. Im trying to get my motor off to rebuild an 01 660R. I hate to do it.. I think im going to try and beat mine back in a little and see if I can get mine to turn again.. I Think im gonna try and do something like what you did.. Only just build up the outside of the punch with weld and try and pry and or get something maybe a socket over it and try the slide hammer effect that I believe you were doing here.

I'm sorry for your unfortunate but the end that enters the frame was oblong and my socket was bigger than the end of the bolt and it was able to creep into the socket as i tightened down on it. for your situation i would advise getting a long screwdriver and try from the other side and hammer your punch back out then use a die and tap set so you can put threads on he inside of he swing arm bolt so the hardened grade i8 bolt can lock onto it to pull it through. also load up some grease in your swing arm zerk fitting to help encourage slippage of the bolt. if you need further help you can look me up on fb using hashtag #jwr320

@#JWR320 oh I see... so you were kinda doing a ball joint press kinda idea...I must admit that when I seen you grab the tap and the socket was there. I assumed you were making a slide hammer. So that was my fault for assuming instead of watching...
However I got the bolt out and most of the chisel..however I don't know if the chisel broke, or a buddy that came to help had anotber punch or something in there. I can still see what I thought was the punch I got out. Now both are loose from the frame. However the swing arm stuck attached to the motor still..I may look you up I really don't get on FB anymore. To much drama.

Ok. Now it is completely out. the frame stripped. I will start the body work tomorrow, and start prepping the frame for paint.. Then the motor tear down.. which ill go back and forth.. From paint to motor.. But thanks again.. Your tips helped. Its a shame you have to look high and lo to get what maybe used parts for these..
