I wish more games had a final mission as good as Mass Effect 2's with the high level of choice, music, consequence, difficulty and intrigue within that final mission it isn't easy to overcome that feeling.
Man, this track is amazing! I've recently delved into this series with the release of the Legendary Edition, so this is pretty fitting! Love the buildup with the acoustics for the first minute before jumping straight into that heaviness, those are always my favorite tracks from you dude!
Randomly got a reply to a comment I made on your ME3 cover you did a few years back asking for more Mass Effect covers the other day with someone agreeing and suggesting this very song, then less than a day later you post this. Wild. This cover is sick AF btw. 3:45 gave me chills.
Going through the back history and finding this cover, it brought me back to a better time in my life and one of the most epic video game moments ever. I'm proud that I was able to save everyone on my first run through this mission, but I still remember how hard my heart was hammering making my decisions and fighting like hell. Man, I really love the composition and playing on this. I just wish there was more bass in the mix to tie the guitars to the drums. It's not ...And Justice For All or anything, but the mixes always leave me feeling like the drums are too isolated from the guitars, almost like I'm listening to two different songs being played simultaneously; it's the reason I'm not subbed despite loving the playing and arrangement. I kind of feel like an ass for thinking that, but I guess taste is subjective.
