We lost our drag strip a few years ago.. dont want to hear the Karen's complaining when our hood exit chuted cars are using the public roads.

That's insane! Crazy how humidity determines what head gasket that is used. Curious to know what happens if slightly off size is used. Thanks Kayla! Way awesome!
I didn`t realize it was that intense. So nice of them to explain everything to me and also record it to teach everyone else that doesn`t have this opportunity!
Heavier air is harder to compress, they change head gasket thickness to control compression of the air/fuel mixture to allow for complete combustion to maximize power. In a sport like this, you need 100% of the power the track can take...

Awh you have to go to one! There are plenty of Drag events to attend and everyone is pretty welcoming & nice since everyone is there for the same reason. I hope they don`t close down either!
Kayla i owe Tony S Dad a real thank you over Va help it last 4 years then about other 3 years it was odd i was in hospital like months after pay lowered i said my uncles name the nurse dropped every thing and ran out ( ok why i said name of the man who lived threw a 100% death rate cancer that person was my mothers uncle the government had my uncles blood frozen by medical rules they could tell why i was sick what caused it) i had what was blood cancer & it was unknown test had i did not have it, the Government did my records were sealed my uncles were too! that why the years, i setting alone in northern PA alone you could say the luckiest man in the world full of blood clots, throwing up blood. all my paid help ran off & or no show! & i lived threw that & still kicking! oh all power to God Jesus & holy spirit & the Don S for all there help!
That was cool. I wanted to go to this event but I had stuff planned. The city complains about street racing then demolishes the only legal spot to drag race in town.

This track Houston last year English town don't understand stands look full don't count tv drag racing must be in person to get it

Wow! What a couple of awesome guys, you can tell they love what they do. I used to attend Pro Mod events and standing next to one while it takes off is an indescribable experience, just raw power.
I completely agree! I didn`t know it would be THAT crazy though! They were so passionate about what they do. Very lucky to have met them!
Well Arizona has been going to hell in a hand basket for a little while so this is par for the course.

My first time going to nhra was in 2000 at Pomona (high school auto shop field trip). I stood that close to a top fuel like you did at 18:50. Top fuel was idling, I said to my self I can handle this noise. The moment it went wide open throttle, the sound waves hit my chest hard, the heat from the exhaust almost dried up my eyes, my left ear started making a ring noise. Pit crew was smiling at me knowing I was new at this. Only when you are there physically you’ll appreciate the true power that motor puts out. So hard to describe the feeling. Great video Kayla.
Plus, we are hearing TWO 12,000 HP top fuel cars at the exact same time!! It's so killer to be there
So cool ! I know that feeling your trying to describe. It’s something that’s hard to describe or imagine but also something you’ll never forget.
I will for sure never forget this! Hopefully NHRA can figure out how to keep their events close to my AZ home!!

I do not have the kind of money for top Fuel & alcohol but I love expereincing their sport! I do not want to see any more tracks closing up!!

Great video. It was a really good weekend at Wildhorse Pass, I hope they have another location planned for the valley. Ron and Tony are not just good drivers, they are fun to be around and talk to. I'm so old, I used to watch Tony's dad in his funny car when I was at Coronado HS in Scottsdale. Only 2,000 HP back then, and his dad won the world championship that year, 1970. Keep up the great infotainment!
I am hoping they have another location planned as well. I do not want to see this sport disappear anytime soon! They were all so sweet & very infornative. I am very lucky to have this experience and meet them all. ONLY 2KHP LOL that is still so fast!

@@KaylaRundle the crazy part is how the fuel was burning your eyes. I didn’t know that they’re tearing down the drag strip. If I would’ve known that I would’ve gone. Bummer

@@aakar88 I did not know that! I go every year since 1970....and Indy/Nascar when available. Covid put a dent in things, but it's gone. Racing is back!
