Thanks for watching carrie. Sometimes, depending on the season, its hard to get foliage or even focal flowers, but I find that this recipe is pretty reliable for making really interesting arrangements.
This was awesome!!! My family likes to do some sort of craft together for the holidays, and you have me thinking we could all make our own flower arrangments. It would be so much fun, and something useful to practice/learn and then enjoy the end results!
That would be such a fun idea! I'd love to hear how it goes if you try it! Maybe check out my video about making a Simple Mason Jar arrangement. You could collect some jars and give it a try! th-cam.com/video/fUjYnIue5B4/w-d-xo.html
This was a wonderful breakdown of flower arranging, and it makes so much sense! Thank you very much. I will keep this in mind with my next arrangement. 💐

Beautiful Ellen I really love your designs and I love love love the way you teach. I was wondering if you can tell me how to use dusty miller it’s a love and hate relationship for me because of the color sometimes I don’t really know how to use it. I’m in the process of becoming a florist and I have a lot to learn. 😊
Thanks so much for watching. Dusty Miller can be tricky. I've used it successfully with a couple of different color palettes: 1)red/burgundy and dusty mauve/pink 2)pink/purple/white 3) all white If you're looking for more info about color palettes and design, check out my free weekly newsletter where I write about a lot of these topics. @@ellenfrostflowers It WAS helpful! I actually do have a topic that is of interest! Why do florists want long stem flowers, but most attractive arrangements have stems around 12 inches or less (in my personal opinion)? Is it for versatility in arranging? Can you explain and perhaps give a tutorial on how to make an attractive “long stem version” arrangement that has a similar fullness as the one in this video? I just don’t see many FULL long stem arrangements on TH-cam and roses with baby’s breath or gladiolos in a spray are just not good enough for me. 😊💚
@@TheSmokyMountainFlowerFarmer This is such a great question. It's all about versatility! On any given week we may be making bud vases and huge alter urns. We're purchasing flowers to be able to everything on our plate that week. I have one video with a larger/fuller arrangement, but I'll also plan to do a beginners video on how to make a tall/full urn. Here is the one video I have of a taller arrangement. th-cam.com/video/G-qbQXVsxGw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=X5QBPZJQrLFKypyO
I bought wisteria on a 40 inch stem. In the advertisement the flower was erect but was droopy when I received it. Is there a method to make it stiff and erect?
why do they keep moving the camera angle? It makes no sense. Annoying. You're looking into the camera but then the camera angle is looking down at you looking into the camera. What's the point?

Thank you …this is beautiful!! What is the name of the first line flower (purple) you used?
Baptisia! It's a native and a favorite of mine for Spring designs. It comes in a couple of shades of purple (most common) and a yellow and light pink.
I might have missed it, but what is the line flower you used? I love the colors you used!
