In this video:
We head out of Summerland Key in the Florida keys and run offshore to go deep dropping. We were planning on deep dropping for swordfish but on our way out picked up some squid and decided to deep drop for some grouper or tilefish first instead.
On our way to go offshore fishing we spot a mahi and pitch it a live pilchard. It quickly swallows the bait and it's game on! One mahi in the boat! Maybe I can turn this mahi belly into a swordfish bait? But instead we decide to use it for deep drop bait on the chicken rig for a tilefish or grouper.
We stop on some new grounds on our way offshore fishing and start deep dropping. We loose a couple rigs but we also catch some rose fish. We will eat these for dinner in this catch n cook. The mahi will also be part of the catch and cook!
Did I also mention that Lee is now a Captain and running Fish and Spear Charters. You should def. check him out and book one of his fishing charters out of summerland key. It's one of the cheapest charters you will find in the keys. Maybe in all of Florida!
After some time we decide to run to the swordfish grounds. We run further offshore and use the tanacom 1000 to deep drop for the swordfish. We are finally swordfishing! Deep dropping in the florida keys doesn't get better than this!
Hours go by and we head in back to summerland key in the dark. It was another great day in the keys. We didn't catch the swordfish we were targeting BUT the mahi and rosies were still an awesome catch and cook!
Finally, I thought we lost you to your business... lol keep up that fire. I like your channel because I feel like you fish like us regulars would an not like some with things we couldn't afford or need a degree to understand.
haha thanks! I have been super busy with work but i'm forcing myself to get some editing done this week
You should make some swordfish weights using concrete/pvc pipe
A real fishing video! When shit goes wrong but still have fun!
lol...everytime you cut from the deep drop to running wide open, i was like holy crap! they are deep trolling!
LMAO

Who's boat ? What make is it and how long very nice boat wow .
always enjoy your vids 🤙
Hey bud, first comment on your channel. I've burned two Diawa tanacoms on swordfish, this is a kite reel and also some lite deep dropping reel. Get a Shimano forcemaster 9000, almost same price, but it does wonders compared to diawa. also try to move the light up 20 feet from bait and your lead should be on 20lb line. if you hit a snag - you loose your lead not the fish or your rig. Hope it helps
Thanks for the input. I'll check those reels out! Might have to get one =) The tanacom gets HOT
Have you ever thought about getting a mold and making w weights out of cement?
We have a TON of lead we are about to melt down into weights =) I'll make a video on that
Been waiting for another vid. But I always wondered...how old are you?
Great trip minus the swordfish but still some great eating
Do you ever do any tarpon fishing?
what degree rod holder do you use with your electric reel/bent butt rod?
Yo that's funny. That's the same house that rob from deer meat for dinner had on one of his videos. It's his "favorite house in the world" lol.
oh no way hah that is funny. Which house? The one being rebuilt?
South Florida Fishing Channel yeah. At the end of that canal y'all came out of.
What would u say is best outboard 4 stroke. Your opinion
Awesome/Epic Video Brother 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️!!!

Waaaaaaaaaaaasupppppp HEIKO, you are back! haha
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤙🏾
Love your videos. Checked out Lee's website. He's got to correct the grammar and spelling before we book a charter. Attention to detail.
lol you won't book a charter because of a spelling mistake on a salty pirates website? heh life sure is tough these days
Heiko come to alaska I will take you fishing
what you fish for? You also hunt?
South Florida Fishing Channel halibut, rockfish, salmon, and yes I hunt. Mostly moose
Liam McFadden I've hunted moose knuckle.
What brand boat are yall in?
contender
South Florida Fishing Channel thanks for the reply. That's what I thought was just curious it's a sharp looking boat.
bud on deck...cant fish without it lol uses a dollar, pack gloves bruh
the hoorag worked great
@South Florida Fishing Channel
I'm planning a move to FL next year, and love learning from you. It's great that you are honest, and share your mistakes, as well as triumphs. I've been trying to think of s cheap source for the 10 and 12 lb weights..... I've seen some guys use the round cannonball type weights, so they don't get so easily stuck in the mud. Kettlebells maybe... $18-25 on Amazon, depending on brand. Half the price of lead. Bulkier yes, but for those of use that can't afford to lose $40 and $50 weighs, might be worth a try. Also, have you seen the Hogy Swordfish lure rigs? Look pretty promising, and can keep your bait soaking longer, not having to worry that squid and other fish aren't pecking your bait to death.
