    I wish we had something like this in America.

      Surely there's something in such a big country with such a rich rail heritage?!

    what a fantastic video mate! by the way the night time shots of Melbourne were great (and yes i still call it Spencer street :) ) isn’t it a pity it cant run to Mildura.
    Anyway I would love to take that trip - one day.
    cheers mate

      Thank you Ken!
      I can seem to break the habit, and when I say it to younger people, for example at work they don’t know where I’m talking about! Ah well, old habits die hard I guess!
      I mean one day it could, if/when these groups have a standard gauge fleet it could very well happen!

    Thank you Will, just fantastic. Keep up your great production’s. You should always carry out your thoughts on future thought of what trips to do. If you don’t in time when you are not able to do it you will regret it. As one gets older you look back and what you wanted to ride on no longer runs.

    That it's more than a year later doesn't diminish the excellent filming quality. Extremely well done: nice to briefly meet you on the SRHC Portland tour.

    Awesome video Will, Clunes station was used in the first Mad Max film where "Toecutter" and his crew get the coffin for the "Nightrider"

      @@WillJamesRailways I have a 3 pack of the original films, hopefully one day if I have the money, I would love to make a replica of the XB Falcon and HQ Monaro "Pursuit Special" cars

    • @JordysRailVideos
      @JordysRailVideos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you watch the "Knight Rider" scene, the original "Pursuit Special" is a 6 Cyl HQ Holden Monaro whilst the latter one is a 351 V8 XB Ford Falcon GT

    Great video. Looks like a wonderful trip. The other place you can see trains running down the middle of a street is Denison Street in Rockhampton. Definitely worth a visit via the electric Tilt Train from Brisbane to check out. 😉

    • @WillJamesRailways
      @WillJamesRailways  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Thank you for that information! Somewhere I'd love to visit!

      Denison street get's pretty hairy at times, as it's not a dedicated space like Wycheproof, and especially at the Southern end where the trains enter Rockhampton Station, and especially if you get a lot of hoons trying to drag off a train with their cars running the street. In the old days the train drivers were required to ring a bell as they traversed the street, but these days that practice has dropped off.

    Thanks for this coverage. I will pass it on to a Talbot local who is interested in what he may have heard during the night back a few months.
    Was going to ask if it used the Ballarat Maryborough route on the night leg, but later you confirmed this route was used on the way back. Probably the only route possible these days anyway.

    This was very good,
    In fact, my Nanna had come from Poland in 1967 and built her house in Heyfield Gippsland, where the Railway went past her house from across the road. It's great to see how Wycheproof had a slight similarity of Heyfield.
