I would just make simple stitches in both knitting and crochet. My rule of thumb is if the yarn is fuzzy use simple stitches and let the yarn shine; if the yarn is not fuzzy let the stitch shine.

You put to words EXACTLY what I use for all my items!! Personally, I think the dc stitch is so boring, I love using unique stitches for most things, but I just made a shrug with some yarn I’ve had for awhile (bulky 5 variegated) and I ended up doing just that, a simple dc stitch and it’s gorgeous! DUH TO ME!!

As someone who knits (and crochets), I thought I’d chime in on some of your questions. I haven’t used this specific yarn, but I have used one from Ice Yarns that looks similar.
Crystal is right; knitting with a yarn like this isn’t a problem. The knitting needles hold the stitches open, making them easy to see and knit into. Because crochet closes each stitch as you work it, the stitches are harder to see in fuzzy yarns. I wouldn’t do fancy stitches like cables though. They get lost in the roving sections.
As someone who mostly knits (with only a little "beginner" level crochet), I agree with you. Knitting with this yarn would not be an issue.

Wendy R I would have to agree! It’s the same with Boucle yarn, I can knit with it but I can’t crochet with it!
Thank you for your thoughts... I knit and crochet.... but was thinking about Tunisian crochet (since I just picked that up)... any thoughts on Tunisian - same opinion that the stitches would be closed and harder to see??

I don’t understand why people think this is expensive. It’s a lot of yarn. That said I don’t think I would like crocheting with it.
Yeah, agree. Divide the yardage and the cost and you end up with 4 balls of over 220 yards each at $5 each. That's not unreasonable at all.

Boom, first! Wow, those are some beautiful, big, balls of yarn!
I thought the same about price but then I did the math and this is more than reasonable. Lion brand used to make a similar yarn that was called moonlight mohair, to make a shawl it required 12 skeins at about $5.00 /skein (82 yds in a skein) for a total of 984 yds that comes to $60.00. This is 952 yds for $20.00 NOT on sale. Nice to know I'm not the only person that loves the smell of wool.
Knitting would be easier to see stitches. In my opinion. It reminds me of mohair the look of it. 😉

My jaw dropped when you took it out of the box! I wasn't expecting a big round ball! I love all of the colors and I can't wait to check them out at JoAnn's. I don't know if I'd make anything with them though. I never make anything without having to frog at least 4 times. Besides they look cool just the way they are! The blood orange one looks like a Tribble from Star Trek!

Funny, saw this on Instagram and came back to see the review I thought I missed but it hadn't been uploaded yet, lol. Thinking I was right on the comment I left over there about the yarn after seeing comments here before watching this. The blood orange is sure pretty. I can see a use for it. $14.99 for that much wool content and that large of a ball is reasonable. Needs to be a lacy pattern with no stitch definition where the stitch doesn't need to be the star of the show. Looks like it will have awesome drape.

Hello, Crystal! In the 1970s, I used a similar Bernat yarn to make a tunic length vest. I found the yarn at a sweet little yarn shop in the Denver area (the shop name escapes me). I wore that vest for years, it was so soft and plush. The yarn you just showed is beautiful. I love your unboxing videos.
