@@SlapBac yup I have had ppl ask why I moved from LA when I did years ago that it looked like a nice area. Would always tell them I enjoy walking at night without the worry of not making back home or making back home with everything I left with. A lot of ppl don't understand what it's like to have multiple rival gangs in walking distance to each other.
Things sure changed in 40 year. I live there in the 70's .My dad had a job with the city then. I remember going to the timucuan wildlife preserve. There was a family of dolphins 🐬 swimming in the bay. Are the intelligent. I named one flipper.. He would talk back.... I can't believe how some area got dilapidated.
Yeah, even the poor areas, and the streets seem well maintained, too. Interesting to see the abandoned, walled-in projects. Seems the apartments could be used.
I live in Jax, I wouldn’t pick any other place to live. We have it all here. The people are wonderful. Perfect melting pot, and can suit any lifestyle. Very proud of J’ville
I had some RR training at Moncrief yard. Glad it was during the day. Jax is one place that's so beautiful, yet that's marred by the poverty and crime areas. Wow! All those tennis shoes hanging over the street at about 4:27. I wonder if it's true each represents a dead kid.
I know this is a old video but I’m born and raised in Jax and you most definitely only recoded the northside/east side… definitely aren’t the only parts of Jax that have bad areas or anything fr. The whole city really bad besides the rich people area……. But nice video though.

Lol yeah this was my first upload. This area is actually quite bad crime wise but I agree nothing like the other stuff I film.
Looks can be deceiving, that's just like LA, it looks beautiful but is very dangerous. Its just the southern climate and environment.

More than likely that's the reason, some places will do it for kids that have gotten out as well but not as much.

I’ve been in Jacksonville,FL visit my nephew, 10years ago, looks familiar for me, where drive through to show.
Moncrief is a different world in Jacksonville.
at 4:20, look up and see about a dozen pair of shoes dangling on the wire!
