I highly recommend installing Squareback or Porsche 944 torsion bars. They are 23.5mm vs 22mm which is what you have(unless you changed them) to handle the extra weight of the engine.
Thanks again John! Rear suspension and brakes are one of the last things I've left unsorted and that is a great suggestion. I've read there is a lot that can be done with 944 suspension. I actually used to have a 944 when I was younger and now I kick myself for selling.
@Ratchet Motors I have 944 rear brakes on my car, but 26mm torsion bars this time. My son and I autocrossed my previous Super and would hit on the bump stops with hard transitions and launches. At all other times, the suspension was outstanding. That was with 944 t-bars. I'm going to have a T4 engine on my current car, which weighs about 27lbs more than a T1. You're Rex engine might be a bit more.
Great work buddy. Nice welds. I’m at this stage on my build too. How low does that exhaust sit from the ground? I was worried about mine scraping but I think yours is even lower.
Thanks for the support! It may be an optical illusion but the exhaust does not hang low at all. At the tailpipe (lowest point) I have about 7” ground clearance, almost exactly the same clearance as the stock wrx/sti headers
I am using the factory Subaru turbo exhaust manifolds. They are not flashy or the most efficient but they are the best option if ground clearance is a priority (in my opinion). I think most aftermarket are the 2 pipe style.
