The Dalai Lama's humour, honesty, humility, down-to-earthedness and simple, child-like behaviour is enough to learn a lot from, even if he didn't say anything.
It can teach us that spirituality is humility, and not pride. The way he laughs at himself, and speaks honestly about Tibetan medicine, is amazing.

Happiness and other positive emotions-including gratitude, hope, enthusiasm, peace and love-are our birthright. Our purpose is to thrive, not to live in negativity and not to merely survive. A positive emotional state is attainable for everyone. Some of us have simply gotten out of the habit.

What ever religion you follow or believe in, it does not matter, I believe in being a Human Being first( then mine is Greek Orthodox Christian), you have to admire and acknowledge that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is an amazing, deep thinker, about our existence, our purpose in life and is open to what we learn through Science. He respects all life and respects all human beings, regardless of their religious beliefs. If more of us thought and acted the same, Planet Earth would be a Better Place!

Long live HH the Dalai Lama. He is the greatest 14th reincarnation. No matter what a great person is and does in this World there are still people who are jealous and then angry which destroy themselves not the great people. ANGER, JEALOUSY ,NEGATIVE ARE POISON FOR ONESELF. ALSO ROOT CAUSE OF MANY PROBLEMS IN FAMILIES, NEIGHBORS, COUNTRY AND WORLD. MAY EVERY ONE FREE FROM ALL THE NEGATIVITY AND PEACE PREVAIL IN THE WORLD.

I would recommend watching the video- you could watch it in short sections :) but the main message got from this, is that the Dalai Lama believes inner peace comes from compassion, that unconditional love, kindness and compassion are within us, and that most religions actually share this same basic idea, but when we are to attached to our own path - such as if one were too attached to the philosophies of Buddhism-then we block out all other ideas and stop growing

a real teacher's goal is to impart and have you attain. i believe this is the case with His Holiness. like water, he wears down one's defences until they are forced to look at things honestly. subtle and consistant. very smart. he has to be. the world is full of ill people all relying on the cunningness of their own minds to convince themselves otherwise, the goal of the sick is to reject the treatment. it is very easy to become confused, and very nice to see this and come back to right thought.

I see that a person's smile may not negate the maturity of a person's views. I think that his wise cheerfulness is most admirable.
In a time of so much glib neglect and alternate seriousness, between a climate of intellectual chaos and a personal sense of gravity sometimes paralyzing in its weight, maybe there is a middle ground. Maybe it could even be a cheerful middle ground?

The peace of the mind comes from nature of the kindness and unselfishness. Because when we were bore in the 1st day as a brand new baby, we brought these qualities to the world to face the new life. The kindness is loving, which means love same-kind humans, animals, world, things those will benifit to our world and things will hold the principals which will benifit to our society to create the benefits to human rights of the freedoms and responsibilities and the better life. If we live without the kindness, the evilness will seep in to create all kinds of the damages to the society. This will remove the one's peace of the mind slowly or quickly. It will depend On the degree of what have you done . The unselfishness is most difficult to really achieve and is very important too at the same time. Because when we resist to have that quality, the selfishness will immediately seep in, getting stronger and turn one to be another person to create worse characters for one, to lead one to the wrong intentions, wrong decisions, wrong doings, wrong ideologies, wrong thinking...etc. this will take away one's own peace of the mind too slowly or quickly by the degrees what have you done. However, both of the kindness and unselfishness must be under one condition, that is the principals of the boundary - America's own foundation of the Capitalism system of the freedoms and entrepreneurship and constitutions. Because we are Americans of America's spirit and symptoms of the Capitalism system of the liberty and entrepreneurship and constitutions as well as our America's own patriotism and loyalty and principles. Also because America's unique foundation created the real freedoms and the equal opportunities to American people. This is why it has created such huge impact in the world as the America's symptoms, as well as the world leadership for global people to learn and dream to come to America. Because America is the only country has been willing and able to make this happen and bring the warm hands to people and make sure that if you are an American, you will surely to be able to enjoy our country's foundation of the Capitalism system of the freedoms and entrepreneurship and constitutions. Because our country - America's foundation has been always based on the freedoms and entrepreneurship and protected by our own constitutions as gurenteed. The freedoms and entrepreneurship will give people the the opportunities to fill their own dreams and be very happy with the freedoms to enjoy.
We are humans, not the mighty God. Human will make mistakes and even the super capable human can't be 100% perfect. The most valuable quality of us is that endless learning and knowing wrong by the facts, change it right here for the principles of America's foundation, dignity and safety. Often the higher-end of the quality will be the generous mind of the forgiveness and appreciations for each other's services to our country, because no one will be 100% perfect, as long as we strictly abide our country's own foundations of the Capitalism system of the freedoms and entrepreneurship by our own constitutions.
India is the origin of the Budasism. America is the country of the Christianity. Any kind of the religion are the same mentality of worshipping the Mighty God in different ways. There are so much wisdoms of the phlosophy in both either of the Bible or the scriptures of the Buddhism. Read either ones, ones shall be happy with the peace of the mind. However, when one is brought to the world, it will have the meanings there. Cherish who you are , what you have, trying your best and to do your best, live by your conscience of the kindness and unselfishness as well as the generous mind of the forgiveness, get rid of the envying or jelous, work hard to build our own dreams for everyone's potentials as always remember to give back some to the society for what you earned from the society, then, the sky will be bluer and our own country will be better, the world leadership will impact more freedoms and entrepreneurship and constitutions for the whole world to enjoy the benefits of America's symptoms.
This is why I believe Gov.Bush has the quality of understanding the importance of the America's foundation, America's patriotism and loyalty and principles by his own America's patriotism and loyalty and principles as well as the important unity of our country and people by his own great proven successful governing leadership experiences which created massive jobs for Floridians to enjoy without worrying about the stability of the lives and even left over 9 billions dollars of the surplus for his successor's raining days. This is the real leadership without point fingers on anyone or talk nasty to anyone or be overly aggressive to anyone, but he quietly achieved it and get it done and done quickly as he can. Again, this is the proven effective leadership. This is why I believe we need the real leadership like Gov.Bush to be our next President to turn America around as Florida's example as well as his great sense of the unique foriegn policy strategies and his proven patriotic Bush family name will surely to gurentee America's own foundation of the Capitalism system of the freedoms and entrepreneurship and constitutions by America's principals. Because most American people who loves our country's Capitalism systems will love President Bush 41. Because he is the symptom of America's pariotism and loyalty. He's also the symptom of the loyalty to our America's great President Reagan's legacy. This is why I appreciate President Reagan and President 41 and President 43's Presidency for our enjoyment of the freedoms and entrepreneurship. I always pray for our country's future, foundations and unity. I also appreciate any other Presidents' services to our country, although I may not totally agree with every of the policies.

At about, 1:40:00, his Holiness praises Christianity, I can understand his message, but, how many wars have been fought in the name of, "Christianity", versus, how many wars have been fought in the name of, "Buddhism"? I don't know the answer, but, I believe, the Buddhist philosophy is amazingly, healthy and helpful.

    Peter Lee, Answer these questions:
Has Jesus given right to examine and test his words as Buddha has given.
Is everything is created by God, why did he create suffering. Should not have created suffering.. Right?
If God loves and cares all equally, then why there is a variations of happiness among people; even among true Christians believers.. that some r rich, famous, powerful etc while some others r poor and destitute ?
Doesn't Buddhist principles explains better for these questions?

Kunchok Gyatso Yes Kunchok... I switched from Christianity for this vary reason. Nothing else explains it the way the Buddha does. There is no reason for suffering outside of Karma. It perfectly explains it. We do not need to be saved from a Savior. We only save ourselves.....

If I asked -what is the meaning of life? and in response to my question you say "I agree with you 100% life has no meaning" it would show you hadn't understood, you weren't paying attention, or do you see all things from your own negative perspective? Surrounded by mirrors, if you don't like what you see, who's fault is that, Madman?
