A brilliant idea! My yarn is kept on a bookcase in the large hall cupboard, though tends to fall off the shelves!

I store mine in plastic tubs in the linen press and every three months put in new moth balls. Prior to this I used open storage until I went to knit with my St Kilda yarn and found the moths had a great old party. I was devastated as I had won the yarn at Yarndale in 2018. Now I have moth traps in every wardrobe and replace the mothballs diligently every three months ❤️🌺

Oh no! That must have been heart breaking, those little blighters! But good on you for being so vigilant now..........I haven't changed the mothballs I have in over a year haha so you have inspired me to go out and get some new ones!

I store my yarn and my oil painting supplies in a vintage writing bureau 😊

That's a great way to store things! I was very inspired by Sydney Crabaugh's vintage bookcase full of yarn so wanted something vintagey to store mine in :)

@@knittingwithbetty I'm not sure how you can work there as well though! I work from home in marketing too and have two big monitors, I can't imagine working without them!

I store my yarn in vacuum have which I keep in big plastic tubs. I put ceder blocks and poison sachets in there too.
We had one of those kitchen cupboards when I was growing up in the 80s, we didn't have a fitted kitchen. I had no idea they were now so expensive now!

Ooo poison sachets, might have to look into those for just in case, I’m doubly paranoid now lol. I think the expensive ones tend to be from dealers rather than individuals selling relatives old stuff. I don’t mind a fixer upper project if it has a nice back story to it 💕 much nicer than the dealers ones that tend to be painted which in my opinion takes all the character out of them!

I remember, when I was a little girl, my next door neighbour had one of those cupboards in her kitchen. I loved it. You are very lucky to get one in such good condition. I keep my yarn in bags, in drawers in a Ikea Kallax unit. I have noticed lots of moths flying around at the moment. Once knitted I keep my handknits on a shelf in my wardrobe. I'm wondering now if that's a good idea. X

Hello! For some reason my reply to you didn't post, no idea why! But yes aren't the kitchenettes fabulous! I've always wanted one for my kitchen but not had the space so it was just the excuse to get one! Let's hope it's not a good year for those pesky moths gahhh

I keep my yarn in zippered bags from Ikea. I think they're called "Parkla" the small bags I store Wip's in, and the next size up, I store balls of yarn for future projects or store finishing projects in them there cheap but do the trick, 99cents to $1.99. They even carry larger bags for under bed storage.
Betty, the pants you have on are really nice .Did you make them? If you did, what is the pattern you used? Nice video, and congratulations on your accusation. I spyed some lovely Bendigo yarn in your cabinet. Can't wait to see what your plans for it!! I love their 4 ply yarn for vintage knitting. See you on your next video. 😊

Yes Ikea are a god send for storing things aren't they! The pants I'm wearing are Vivienne of Holloway - I try not to sew clothes as I did a fashiony degree and it legit gave me ptsd lol. I didn't go near a sewing machine for like a year after finishing it haha. I love Bendigo yarn too, it's my dream to go to their shop one day :)
