    Good to see these machines being repurposed and you having good luck on them not needing major repairs to get good use out of them in this day and age of big money equipment of this size , hope you get lots more work out of them with minimum costs 👍

    id love to be able to operate machines outside of the mining environment. i work in the mines i can operate many dump trucks and loaders. every day i stare at the dozers and ask my bosses for a go... its hard getting any experience even tho i am so close to them. one day it will happen.

    D4/D5 is a fairly heavy crawler for Agri work in the UK, 2 x D11’s that must must be a pretty big chunk of land !

      Martini V8 not a huge chunk of land, we just didn’t want to sit in a bulldozer all year to get our jobs done😂

    Awesome dozers. I watch dozers in action all the time. Wish i had yhe money. 2 questions, how much does the track replacement cost for them, noth tracks and how much cheaper would a d10 be as far as owning and operating costs?

    • @thejacksonbrothers

    Tiny 2 looks like an ex Bloomfield Collieries machine. Going off the high vis "D11-5" stickers, and the grab handle on the push arm. I can't remember if it retired from Bloomfield Open Cut, or Rix's Creek Open Cut - but if it is ex-Bloomfield Collieries, I've swung spanners on that old girl!.

    • @jackrichards1863
      @jackrichards1863 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ya just put them in top gear. they don't have any trouble with hills or slopes downhill. River crossings are pretty easy so there's no need to go all the way to the bridges anytime. And along the way folks are so accommodating to have a little work done and that pays for the deisle oil. It really pays to avoid getting stuck while travelling however , as you can imagine?

    • @thejacksonbrothers
      @thejacksonbrothers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha pretty accurate, unless it’s it’s a fair way away, and we don’t run them flat out as it’s hard on the undercarriage👍

      Did a lot of work on 8,9,10 only ever worked on one 11 in 30 years in the repair business 25 Lineboring etc I believe that in the rock mining in the west the smaller dozers were more cost effective as they were generally only pushing dumps etc with little skill required to operate ,also for transport the old 10 n or l were Awsome machines for an amateur like me to operate

    peter ,i'm a bit of a smart arse ,and want to add my 2 cents worth ,or lets say i can't help my self .
    i suspect you've left a lot out of this story.reading between the lines and trying to discern what you're saying without putting it into words . you're caring compassionate heart and your training/? to seek god to get his solution .that's why i called you a kingdom man in another comment . the drought was terrible and i feel it would be so hard for you and heaps of others to go to their employees/staff and say "i'm terribly sorry "i haven't got the brass to keep you on ,you and your family have to go]. But ,i bet you sought god and his wisdom and provision in this time and he put this remarkable [out of the box ] thinking in your head .did you use ps 46.1 to bounce off ."i'm an EVER present help in time of need " or Isaiah "i'll show you a way where there is no way" [a bit like gideon;i'm going to use you to deliver my people" ] .i bet you had to do some heavy duty spiritual war fare in your mind before you stepped up in faith for this one . i admire your courage . and faith and integrity and your trust in god ,that if we believe can get us out of any jam .and bring good out of this . gees,i never thought i'd say that to a brethen .{you're a ridgy didge god fearing man].
    this smells a bit like a crazy thing frank would have done .the communion of the saints seems to be true . whether they're here or there .
    who would have thought .a dryland farmer ending up with 3 D11's.
