Yay I've been waiting for this video! See the syringe is not so bad. I feel like it's the nerves that make us more anxious than actually feeling the needle.
@@MommininMillstown I had to do compound while I got things sorted out with insurance. It's not that bad with the syringes! I stood like shaking in the bathroom before I said 'aw the heck with it, i'm going to just do it' LOL
Haha! When I used a syringe to pull the last little bit out of the sample pen of Ozempic my doc gave me, I called my Momma for moral support so I could inject it!!! I’m 45 and I called my momma🤣🤣🤣!
@@MommininMillstown LOL there was one video where the lady was giving her self trulicity omg it was so funny before she hit the injection button 'I'm a strong, independent woman' 🤣🤣🤣
I just ordered my first non-retail tirzepatide from a place in Florida yesterday. I did lots of research but it still feels like a big leap of faith. The screen was easy from the clinic. I just showed them my current script for Mounjaro and answered their medical screening They quoted me a 7 day lead time from the pharmacy and another 5-7 before I get a refrigerated fed ex box.
Yay for you! You're on 5mg or 7.5mg now? I know the vial is supposed to be for 3 months, but I wondered what the expiration date is, since you mention trying to stretch the shots out. You're going to do great, Courtney. I feel it.
Thanks! I have a feeling I’ll do well too! I’m still on 5 mg:) I haven’t seen an expiration date on anything I got from them. I’ve looked and looked, lol! I’ve heard from other people on the compounds that it’s at least 6 months if kept in the refrigerator. It did say 21 days if left out of the refrigerator on one of the sheets I got, but that’s all I saw:)
@@MommininMillstown The nice thing about having a vial is you can microdose if you get super-snacky prior to you shot. I've heard that can help. Like give yourself a little bit of your next dose, then wait to take the rest. (disclaimer) not a medical professional, just what I've heard. like on one board or another one person said she does half her dose then 3 days later the other half of her dose. That it helps side-effects and keeps her hunger levels more even. I've more than once wished I could do that because having the hunger rise just before the next shot is always disturbing to me. I can't decide if it's food noise or plain old hunger, and that freaks me out a little. I mean, it's normal to get hungry and need to eat something, but it's the eating something, then too soon after wanting something else that upsets me. I debate talking to the doc abut a higher dose, but my sugar control is pretty good on my current dose, and I still have so far to go I worry about topping-out and the food noise returning. This medicine is a miracle, but it also produces a lot of stress, don't you think?
I agree! It can be stressful to think about all of the aspects of taking these meds. I have also heard of people breaking up their dose to help with side effects and keeping their cravings at bay! I may do that if the need arises:) I’ve also heard that some people taking Mounjaro are stacking micro doses or small doses of Semaglutide mid week to do the same thing:) (Disclaimer) Im not a medical professional, just repeating what I’ve seen others do on other message boards/social media. Everyone should talk to their doctor about medicine dosing. 😉
@@MommininMillstown yes, absolutely, everybody should talk to their doc about everything having to do with medicines, dosing, and medical stuff. Are you tempted to add "not a medical professional" to your user name? Because I sure am! "Not A Medical Professional Tells Stories". My goodness. I'm listening now to a podcast citing studies and talking about the ins and outs of GLP-1s. So informative. Yes, she's a medical doc. She doesn't understand all the fear stuff and the difficulty of getting insurance to cover compounded GLP-1s rather than the branded ones. Told my husband to talk to one of his docs about the possibility of one of the GLP-1s helping with a condition he has. There's a slew of studies in a variety of specialties. Podcast is about an hour long. Worth every minute.
Alright, honey, spill the beans: when your innards start actin' like they're at a barn dance gone wild, how do y'all put a lid on it? Do you have a secret potion or a grandma's concoction up your sleeve for when the GLP-1 starts a hoedown, swingin' between the torrential two-step and the no-go slow dance? What's your magic trick, darlin', for keepin' your belly in line and your britches dry?
Oh my lord, you have me rolling over here! 🤣🤣 I do defiantly have days that I can’t stray far from home, but if it gets out of hand, I grab some Imodium. But I don’t go crazy with it because I don’t want the complete opposite to happen either. I would give your doc a call and see if there is something they could suggest to help keep your innards at a nice smooth waltz pace and not the death metal version of the cotton-eyed joe :)
@@MommininMillstown Well, ain't you a hoot! Good on ya for knowin' 'bout that there Imodium, sugar. I hollered at my nurse, and she reckoned Miralax is just the ticket for battlin' them stubborn belly stop-ups. Sure as shootin', it's like walkin' a tightrope, can't go overboard with 'em. If only we had us a magic potion, somethin' like a "mounjarolax" or a "mounjaromodium" to keep everything as balanced as a seesaw in a gentle breeze! 🤠
I originally started on 2.5 of actual Mounjaro and then went up to 5 mg. Insurance stopped covering so I went with the compound:) I decided to stay at the 5 mg dose since it’s still working well:)
So glad you are doing good with the compound so far. ❤Thanks for the update!😊
