It exist in many other countries like the USA, in the former USSR, Eastern Europe as well.
@@DipakBose-ge1hm NOT TURE. USA supreme court actually ruled in 1978 that quota for any race / religion etc was unconstitutional. You are confused with land reservation for native Americans in the US. Similarly I have heard that USSR mainly for a decade encouraged Jews to join college education. You may find really tiny scale things like that in CanadaI, Europe but not at the cost of anybody with better merit. think you are confused or twisting facts.
@@indianabroad4530 In the USA different states have different rules. They can thus get away with positive discriminations thourgh affirmative actions/ athelatics quota for black Americans. In the USSR, there were extensive quotas for the students of the central Asian Republics, which are independent countries today. In India almost 50 percent of the positions and seats in professional academic institutions are reserved for the OBC/ST/SC.
