Awesome project and the articulation is perfect for grabing trees on an uneven incline. How much does this implement weigh? You could easily mount a winch back on the frame and use pulley guides out to the boom end. Mount a fixed on the 3point frame that can anchor the tractor to use as a timber winch.

I want 14’ high ceilings for sure as I plan to eventually install a 2 post rotary lift to work on my cummins pickup and friends vehicles.. but want enough space so I can keep my tractor and other various projects on the other side. I also plan to eventually have a full fabricating section, along with a parts washer, sand blast cabinet, and a nice big drill press too like you have eventually. I only have a tiny cheap press right now because that’s all I had room for, I’d have a lot more tools right now if I had the room for them but I can’t squeeze anything more in my small shed with out making my head explode lol.

So you can plasma those tight circles you were trying at the start if you take a nail, divot (by eye, no bother with perfection) the center of the curve and hold the nail between your index and middle finger and the handle (as you would normally). Put the nail in the divot, and adjust the hold so that the plasma tip is over the cut and rotate using the nail as the center. A big nail works best and you can bend the tip at 90 to help you hold it better.

You can use MDF to make the templates. Scroll saw + 5 mm MDF, cut the inside template, where you run your plasma on the inside. Using the scroll will naturally result in better cut and MDF is easily sanded by hand. When you use it, you use small feet made from bits of MDF offcuts that you super glue along the way. If you don't have a scroll saw, all you need is a box cutter with a good blade tip. Score the MDF on both sides and you can pop the thing out in a few cuts. If you score it, it will leave a good edge on the faces with a little fuzz in the center which is easily sanded away (by hand).

    • @MJADoingStuff

In the video I used plywood that was to thick but it was free so I made it work. I will try the MDF thanks for the tip. 😁👍🚜💨🍳

@@MJADoingStuff Hi and thanks for the quick response. I am going to check the vid, you mentioned. Mine is a Kubota L2850 DT tractor with standard 3-point at the rear, with fixed top- link. Nothing else. It came with an attachable backhoe, but this type has its own hydraulic system, driven via pto coupled pump. I would appriciate at least some additional connectors at the rear ( variable hydraulic top-link, 2 connectors for a blade, shifting etc.)

    • @MJADoingStuff

@@HeinerStorchennest1 You can order the Summit System with 2,3, or 4 separate rear remotes for a cheaper solution look up hydraulic directional valve for a levered version no wiring involved. Sorry I am not to good at computer stuff😂 but what I did was took a 14"inch frying pan and used it for the curves than took measurements from the hydraulic cylinder I got @ Northern Hydraulics. I purchased the cross tube 1.5 bore X 06" inch stroke and on the website it has a diagram on the dimensions. Then I took some poster board made my drawings and cut it out. Using paper clips for the joints to see how it would work and made adjustments from there. I am thinking of making another more detailed video on just the grapple part because there seems to be some interest. Have a great week😁👍🚜💨💡
